🌦️ A Little Farm Day Update - Postponed 🌦️

After much discussion (and far too many weather forecasts!), we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone tomorrow’s Family Fun Day.

This week has been an incredibly busy one here at Palmer’s Farm. We’ve had both our Red Tractor inspection and our TB test, and we’re very pleased to say that everything went well. However, it’s fair to say we are all a little exhausted…

With the weather looking rather uncertain, we’re concerned that many of you may choose to stay cosy indoors rather than venture out, and we completely understand that. Family Fun Day takes a huge amount of preparation and hard work from so many people, and we feel it deserves the very best chance to be enjoyed by everyone.

Rather than taking a chance on a less-than-perfect day, we’d much rather find a better weekend and hold the event when the weather, the atmosphere and the experience are exactly as they should be.

We know many of you were looking forward to it, and we’re so sorry for any disappointment this may cause. Thank you, as always, for your support, understanding and encouragement. It means so much to us.

The good news is that Family Fun Day isn’t cancelled - just postponed. Put those competition entries on ice and we’ll confirm a new date as soon as possible, and we promise it will be worth the wait. ❤️

🎈Palmers Farm Family Fun Day - 30th August 2026 | 2-4pm

We thought we’d have some fun this summer with our very own day of fun. Join us for an afternoon of competitions, cake, milkshakes, duck racing, animals, glitter face painting and more.
Children big and small can use the summer holidays to work on their entries for any of the 4 competitions. Go all in and wow us with your creativity, imagination and talent.🌟

Classes:
1. Farm inspired crown
2. Fruit and veg tractor
3. Farm in a seed tray
4. Pet and owner fancy dress (my personal fav, absolutely all animals welcome 🐕🐈‍⬛🐹🐓🐐🐴🐄🐟🦎
5. Brownies

I’ve made a little entry programme where you will find all the details for each class and how to enter. There will be prizes and rosettes aplenty so it really will be loads of fun.
We’ve set an entry fee of 50p per class and all the money raised will go to towards farming charities this year.
Entry forms will be at from next week, on our page, or I can email them to you directly, just pop a message.

Some parking will be available but we’d really appreciate it if you could walk from Hemyock and you are welcome to drop off entries earlier in the day.

Please wear wellies as it will be in the field next to the Milk Stand.
Please help myself and Freddie share this far and wide and let’s make it an event to remember.

The Milk Stand will be Closed this Saturday and Sunday!

Most of you will know that for the past 17 weeks I have been training for a 110km challenge to walk the width of Devon, and it’s finally happening tomorrow.

Assuming I make it back in one piece, I’ll be pasteurising again on Monday morning and will make sure I do extra for you all.

If you’d like to follow my progress over the next 24 hours, you can track me using the GPS link below. My bib number is 1026 Casey Blackmore.

Thank you so much to everyone who has sent kind messages, donated, or accompanied me on training walks. It has meant the world to me.
So far, I have raised a whopping £750, but if anyone else would like to contribute, you can do so using the link below.

Since I started training, I have walked 450km, and after tomorrow I’m aiming to have completed 560km. But honestly, I am already immensely proud of myself. I have been out in all weathers, walked until 3am and frequently started at 4am, all while recovering from an injury very early on.

I genuinely couldn’t have tried any harder. What happens from here is unknown, but whatever the outcome, I have already achieved what I set out to do: to show my children that if you set your mind to something and give it your all, you are already a winner, whatever the result.

See you on the flip side.

Week 8 of my Coast to Coast training ✔️ and this one feels like a real milestone.

After picking up an ankle injury right as training began, I finally feel like I’m back in the game. This week I’ve covered 24.5 miles with no pain at all — such a relief!

I’ve also started getting used to those early starts (4:45am on Wednesday and Saturday 😅). It’s helping me prepare for the all-nighter, and it means I can fit training around work while still spending time with the kids at the weekend.

I’ve been walking solo this week, but if anyone fancies joining me for a stretch over the next few weeks, give me a shout. This challenge is all about supporting mental health, and honestly, an early morning wander through the countryside with a good chat is a pretty great way to start the day.

Next up: a night walk this Friday — starting at 10pm with so wish us luck!

As always, thank you so much to everyone who’s supported me so far. Every penny raised is going to the Devon clinic to support mental health services. If you’d like to sponsor me, the link is in the stories.

So… who’s up for a walk? I’ll bring the sweets 🍬
