Billionaire businessman, Chief Godwin Ademike, was reportedly killed by his biological son at his residence located at No. 3 Hassan Adamu Street, Guzape, Abuja, on Friday, May 15, 2026.
According to reports, the incident occurred after a heated argument between the father and son over financial matters. The suspect allegedly confronted his father for not providing him with enough money to maintain what he described as the lifestyle expected of a billionaireβs son. He reportedly compared his situation to that of his friends whose fathers, despite being less wealthy, allegedly gave them more money and luxury items.
Sources further revealed that Chief Ademike accused his son of mismanaging funds from the familyβs real estate business that had been entrusted to him.
The disagreement reportedly escalated when the suspect, who was said to be in the company of two women at the time, allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed his father multiple times.
Chief Godwin Ademike, who owned properties in upscale areas including Lekki, Maitama, and Guzape, was rushed to Karu General Hospital where he was later confirmed dead.
The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
Chief Ademike was a prominent importer and exporter of electronics at Alaba International Market.
