This is a difficult post to write, as no parent ever believes they would be in this situation.

On 24th June, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world. Devastatingly, we learnt that she had multiple heart defects, and despite the best efforts of nurses, surgeons and cardiologists, on 16th July we had to say our goodbyes.

Even though we are very much still in shock and heartbroken beyond measure, we have chosen to give all proceeds from our egg sales to The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children's Hospital charity.

We will never recover from the loss of our daughter, but we hope that supporting other sick children and their families is something that would have made her smile.

Please bear with us during our time of grieving, and thank you for any and all support.

Apologies, no eggs this week as we had a bit of a baking/cooking frenzy last week 🫣 (pregnancy urges at their finest 😅)

Normal egg supply will resume next week 😊

I mentioned before that one of our girls had gone "broody" and wasn't laying, instead she was insisting on sitting on all the other eggs she could find.

We only have hens in our flock, so despite her best efforts, none of these eggs would have ever hatched. And despite our best efforts of removing the eggs, taking her out of the coop, keeping her fed etc in an attempt to get her out of her broodiness, she is adamant that she wants to be a mumma hen.

So today we treated her to 6 fertile eggs to nest with, bought from the wonderful breeder who supplied us with our girls. Being 9 months pregnant myself, I'm so excited for her and really hope they all hatch. Her persistence in wanting to nest shows she'll be a wonderful mumma when the time comes!

Question is, between the baby and the chicks, who will arrive first?! 👶🏼🐣🤷🏼‍♀️😅
