Cranbrook Farmers Market & The Fat Carrot Café

At the heart of the community the aim of the market is to support local producers, and provide a Café area for local people and visitors to stop and chat. It has many lovely and unique shops and resident artists. Worth a visit is the Union Windmill a grade 1 listed windmill run by volunters. Cranbrook also has its own museum and is close to the National Trust property Sissinghurst Castle.

This was such a special necklace to make. I first met the lady who ordered this seven years ago. She was going through the most unimaginable grief. Her and her husband had this incredible warm and kindness and carried themselves with such grace despite what they were going through. I always remember the jewellery I made for them and have often thought about them. The lady got back in touch with me earlier this year to ask for another piece of jewellery to be made. She asked for a large fingerprint necklace. Whilst a small size would have also worked, for her the large size was important as she wanted to capture as many precious fingerprint lines as possible she could. It is such a beautiful print to work with and it meant the world to be able to help this incredible lady again 💚 x

Tonight’s meeting of the Cranbrook Museum and Local History Society is the AGM followed by a talk on Shepherds of the South Downs. 7.30 start but doors open at 7pm with refreshments available.

It's back! I spent last week hunting the first apricots and tracked some down on Friday. I made my first batch that afternoon to sell at Tonbridge Farmers Market on Sunday and sold the lot! Fortunately I've found more today and have made another batch ready for Hildenborough Farmers' Market tomorrow morning. Apricot Jam will be back on the online shop very soon.
