Shaftesbury Walking Group Free Short Friendly Walks Welcome ! They are led by friendly trained Walk Leaders & typically end with optional refreshments.

We are a small group of volunteers leading walks around Shaftesbury for everyone to keep active, meet new people & socialise :-)

Walks last between 30 & 90 minutes ...

TUESDAYS
• Sunrise Walk - meet 0715 at Barton Hill FREE Car park, SP7 8QA - start 0730 - up to 90 minutes

WEDNESDAYS
• Starter Walk - meet 1015 at town hall - start 1030 - 30 minutes
• Stroller Walk - meet 1015 under Tesco ‘brick

gazebo’ - start 1030 - 60 minutes
• Strider Walk - meet 1015 at Barton Hill FREE Car park, SP7 8QA - start 1030 - 90 minutes

THURSDAYS
• Evening Walk - meet 1845 at town hall - start 1900 - 60 minutes

Rural Walks of 90 minutes also take place on Summer evenings & Winter Saturdays - contact Andrew for latest details - [email protected]

All our walks are free. No need to book, just turn up a few minutes before the walk starts & you'll find a warm welcome ... whatever the weather ! Well behaved dogs are more than welcome but please keep them on a lead unless the Walk Leader says it's OK to let them off.

The Springhead Trust gardens will be open to the public on Sunday 21st June, from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm.
Enjoy the lakeside gardens in their summer pomp!

Light refreshments will be available to purchase from our pop-up cafe in the historic Mill.

Entry is free; donations towards the upkeep of the garden are welcome.

* Dogs on fixed leads are welcome. However, please do not bring your dogs if the weather forecast gives temperatures higher than 24 degrees
* All walks are lead by trained volunteers and are FREE

Walks offered week commencing 8 June

Tuesday 9 June
* Sunrise strider walk, (walking at a healthy pace, could take in hills, stiles, mud and fields) 90 mins, meet at Barton Hill free car park from 7.15am, leaving promptly at 7.30am. Hi viz clothing recommended for safety reasons.

Wednesday 10 June...

* Meet at Town Hall from 10.15am for the 30-45 mins starter walk, (walking at a gentle pace, remaining at the top of town on paths and roads, avoiding hills, stiles, etc) leaving at 10.30am.

* Meet at Tesco arch from 10.15am for a 60 mins walk, (be prepared for some walking at a steady pace, could take in hills, an occasional stile, mud and fields) leaving at 10.30am.

* Meet at Barton Hill free car park from 10.15am for 90+ mins walk (be prepared for some walking at a healthy pace, could take in hills, stiles, mud and fields) leaving at 10.30am

Thursday 11 June
* Meet at Shaftesbury Town Hall from 6.45pm for a 60 mins Strider Walk (be prepared for mostly walking at a healthy pace, could take in hills, stiles, mud and fields), leaving at 7pm. Hi viz clothing recommended for safety reasons.

*Please choose a walk appropriate for your level of fitness and ability on the day
*For safety reasons, high visibility clothing is recommended on all walks. It is also good practice for walkers to check themselves for ticks following our walks.
