🥒 BIG DILL ENERGY HAS ARRIVED 🥒

As many of you know, our Shop Assistant Allison hails from across the Atlantic 🇺🇸 and, in a moment of homesickness — combined with her ongoing quest to find a proper dill pickle in the UK — she ordered these in for us to try.

And oh. My. Goodness.

Goat Rodeo Goods Big Dill Energy Cucumber Pickles taste like home.

If you’re American, Canadian, or simply someone who has spent far too long searching British supermarket shelves thinking, “No… I mean a DILL pickle,” then please come and try these.

They’re crunchy, tangy, properly dilly and about as close to the classic American dill pickle as Allison has managed to find this side of the Atlantic.

So, to our fellow homesick expats: you are not alone. 🥹
We can’t promise a jar of pickles will completely cure the homesickness…

…but they might fill the hole for a little while. 💚🥒

🍂 Can you feel it?

The leaves are starting to fall. The evenings are drawing in. And there’s something about the sunlight that’s beginning to look decidedly autumnal…

Which can only mean one thing:

It’s nearly chutney season. 😌

From this week, we’ll have our homegrown green tomatoes available in the shop, ready for all your chutney-making, pickling and preserving plans.

We’ll also have pickling onions arriving — because it’s never too early to start filling your cupboards with jars of delicious things for the colder months.

Summer produce might still be going strong, but autumn is quietly sneaking onto the shelves. 🍅🧅🍂

So dust off the preserving pan, find all those empty jars you definitely kept “because they might come in handy”, and watch this space…

🌱 Picked this morning. Ready for the weekend.

Our homegrown runner beans are now in the shop!

Grown in our greenhouse, picked fresh today, and ready to head home with you.

Whether you steam them, butter them, or serve them alongside your Sunday roast, they don't get much fresher than this.

(Well... unless you fancy climbing into the greenhouse and picking them yourself. Please don't. 😅)

🍅 Got a big batch of pasta sauce, soup or chilli planned?

Our 2.5kg boxes of fryer tomatoes are packed with flavour and incredible value.

This week's boxes are full of beautiful heritage varieties like San Marzano, Black Russian and Green Zebra – tomatoes that are bursting with flavour and perfect for roasting, slow cooking or turning into rich homemade sauces.

🚨🍅 TOMATO ALERT 🍅🚨

The tomatoes are now in the shop!
After months of hard work from the lads in the greenhouse, the first of our homegrown tomatoes have officially made the journey from greenhouse to shelf.

They're fresh. They're local. They're delicious.

The good news is that customers can now buy them.

The bad news is that shop assistant Allison is currently off sick until 5th July and therefore unable to stand next to the tomato display eating her wages.

Probably for the best. 🍅😌

🐾 An update from the farm shop...

If you've noticed things have been a little quieter on our page recently, it's because shop assistant Allison has been off sick for the past couple of weeks.

In her absence, Nettie and Winnie have bravely stepped up to keep things running.

Unfortunately, Winnie appears to have interpreted this as a promotion.

Since taking on her new responsibilities, she has:
• Organised multiple barketing meetings
• Declared herself Employee of the Month
• Demanded additional treats as part of her compensation package
• Listed "napping" as a key business objective

We're not entirely convinced productivity has improved, but customer morale remains high.

Normal service will resume shortly. 🐾❤️

A little greenhouse update from us…

The seasons are starting to shift now.

🍅 Our tomatoes are beginning to ripen
🥒 The mini cucumbers are ready for picking
🌱 And the runner beans are flowering beautifully (which means beans won’t be far behind!)

As asparagus, strawberries and new potato season slowly starts winding down, the summer crops are just getting started.

We’ll also be limiting Allison’s unsupervised access to the greenhouse now that the tomatoes are turning red.
The temptation to eat them straight off the plant is becoming a serious issue.

The squeal she let out upon spotting the first ripe tomatoes could allegedly be heard across Norfolk 🙉
