We are beyond thrilled to announce that this year we won FOUR more highly coveted Great Taste Awards bringing it to a grand total of NINE awards overall.

We won for our Cherry Bakewell Tart, our Cassarece Pasta with sweet & smokey Tempeh, our Sweet Potato Peanut Butter Satay and last but not least- our Bergamot infused Mince Pie with cashew brandy cream .

This news is inevitably bittersweet for us. We were planning to take Dovebrook to the next stage this year until our hopes were tragically dashed by a fire that destroyed everything. We still hope to resurrect Dovebrook in some capacity in the future, and we believe the path forward will be an exciting, albeit extremely challenging one. We hope to share more news on that front in due course when we have figured out the right direction for us.

We are as always grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way. 💚🕊️🙌🎊💜

WILD GARLIC SEASON 🧄🌱 As we herald in Spring here is one of our favourite dishes to make. Pasta with wild garlic pesto and asparagus. If you like the Dovebrook asparagus with pappardelle pasta and Jerusalem artichokes then you’ll love this.

The pesto is made with 100g of wild garlic leaves blended with 4 tbsp of nutritional yeast flakes, juice & zest of one lemon, 🍋 1 tsp miso paste, 65g toasted mixed seeds (we used pumpkin, sunflower & h**p) 1 tsp of maple syrup, 120ml of rapeseed oil, salt & pepper to taste.

To all the brilliant women who inspire, support and care for others- we salute and celebrate all of you today 🙌👏💚💛💜💙💞🧡🌺💐

We always like to remind people on Mother’s Day of the two Dovebrook dishes inspired by our own mothers- our award- winning Persian Stew, based on Sham’s mum’s amazing Gormeh Sabzi, a traditional Persian family favourite that we will be enjoying for Naw Ruz, Persian New Year which is just around the corner.

And our Jackfruit Curry, based on a dish my mum used to make for me and my brothers- a Goan Fish Curry (inspired by the years she spent living in India) which we ‘veganised’ replacing the fish with jackfruit but still has all of the wonderful key flavours- tamarind, ginger & coconut milk and loads of delicious veggies.

It’s British Pie Week 🥧 so we thought now was as good a time as any to draw your attention to two of our favourite Dovebrook meals: our Mushroom & Leek Pie & swipe to see our ‘Little Shepherd’s Pie’

Think it’s safe to say we are all a bit bored of winter now and longing for Spring! 🌸🌼🌿🌞but in the meantime our pies are the most wonderfully warming, hearty and delicious centerpieces to any meal (& especially our Sunday roast) to see you through the last of the chilly rainy days ahead!

Throwback to 2015 & my early food photography days 🤣 This pic was taken at The Moveable Feast, our first business venture, a wonderful vegetarian cafe in next to London Bridge & The Shard. Life was very different then- pre- kids, pre-dogs & we had so much to learn but it was such a fun adventure & we will never forget the joys- in particular the awesome people we met & the inspiring vegan businesses who we partnered with during that special year. 🌱

The FLUFFIEST Chocolate Banana Pancakes…

A simple & delicious pancake recipe for Shrove Tuesday with all our favourite ingredients- chocolate, bananas, cinnamon, cardamom, toasted nuts, nut butter, toasted coconut flakes, persimmon.

This is a fun recipe to make for a large group/household/family- a real crowd pleaser- seriously light and fluffy and the melted chocolate chips running through it are irresistible.

BLOOD ORANGE CHOCOLATE POTS

We featured this gorgeous recipe in our Veganuary 2022 free recipe e-booklet. Tis the season for blood oranges 🍊 & we think chocolate & orange is a match made in heaven.

Veganuary shouldn’t be about depriving yourself of the stuff you love but about embracing new delicious and innovative ways to eat! This is definitely more nutritious and lighter than the average chocolate dessert and one that’s fun and easy to make. Certainly one to impress dinner party guests with!

If you love this you’ll love our chocolate fondant and our chocolate cherry fudge torte- have you tried them yet? Let us know what you thought of them!

CHOCOLATE POT INGREDIENTS:
100g vegan dark chocolate (we love )
350g extra firm silken tofu
1 small bashed banana
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp smooth hazelnut butter
75ml maple syrup
1 tsp blood orange zest
2 tbsp blood orange juice
1/2 tsp rum extract (optional)
Pinch of sea salt

Optional garnishes:
Goji berries
Toasted pumpkin seeds
Crushed nuts 🌰

As we embark on a new year & celebrate Veganuary 2024 we thought now was as good a time as any to re-introduce ourselves: we are El and Sham, the husband and wife co-founders of Dovebrook Kitchen.

Our mission remains the same as it has from the very beginning when we launched in 2021: to introduce as wide an audience as possible to the amazing potential of excellent plant-based cuisine and transform people’s perceptions of vegan food. We want to encourage a way of eating that is sustainable and ethical at its core but more importantly than anything- we want to always ensure we are making meals that nourish people in all the right ways and leave them feeling satisfied and joyful! We believe frozen can be the new fresh! And there is no need to compromise on flavour or nutrition with our meals.

We have an action packed year ahead with some exciting opportunities for Dovebrook- all will be revealed soon… 😀

We remain committed to developing new and exciting plant-based meals that are regularly being added to the Dovebrook menu that households can hopefully enjoy all together as well as all of our wonderful individual customers.

We’ll continue to use this platform to inspire you with nutritious seasonal recipes-with a focus on meals that are easy to prep and on the table in under 30 mins.

As a growing family we understand as much as anyone how hard it is to cook from scratch (however much we all wish we could) so we are to provide for you when you are in need of delicious nourishment but simply don’t have the time or energy to cook and wash up.
