Mushrooms!!
Wild, foraged and very fresh.
We will have a limited quantity this weekend freshly gathered from just up the road.
Porcini will hopefully follow in a few weeks but they are super fickle and need the right weather to put their heads above the ground.
Meanwhile we have the Chanterelle, Girolle, Gallinaccio. In any language, its an absolute winter treat, pan fried, butter, salt, pepper...

Dunfermline, this is our moment. 🎭🎶🎬
Outwith Festival is BACK — Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th September — and this is more than just five days of gigs and gags. It's proof that a "small but mighty" city can punch above its weight culturally.

Built and run by volunteers since 2017, Outwith has grown into a genuine highlight of Dunfermline's calendar: theatre, film, comedy, art, workshops, and a music all-dayer, which in PJs this year.

This year even brings Neil Lennon in conversation at Carnegie Hall and Kes on the big screen with actor David Bradley.

Festivals like this don't survive on nostalgia — they survive because people show up. So here's the ask:

This is not just us, this is a lot of small and indie businesses that are up against it at the moment.

Eggs - Some pretty wild statements being banded about regarding eggs and that old chestnut, Salmonella.
The BBC have made repeated claims that are factually incorrect and detrimental to many small businesses.
We dont have the global purchasing power and supply chains that many of the tax dodging multinationals do. So we source LOCALLY, from businesses like ours, small family run and LOCAL.
We buy our eggs from Blyths of Fife, free range.
We also use these eggs in all our bakes and cooking in the Woodlea Cafe & Bistro
The hens are inoculated against Salmonella and their eggs are 100% safe.
Deeply disappointed in the BBC and their approach to this, with folks on a sofa talking with great authority about something that they know nothing about, good for TV, bad for business.
And the irony is, a lot of these small cafes will also be buying eggs from the supermarkets. so again, the BBC lets a good story get in the way of any actual serious reporting or investigation, and cut to a random on the street being asked for another ill informed opinion to get a sound bite !!!

It's bit miserable today.
Head to Woodlea to cheer yourself up!
New in we have some dog treats for sale in the farm shop to treat your canine friends.
Loads of fresh homemade bakes including our new frangipane swirls.
We have freshly foraged highland chantarelle mushrooms in!
Loads more in our newly refurbished farm shop.
Takeaway open and you can sit inside the cafe to eat or take them home - delicious breakfast, lunch and snack options available as well as hot and cold drinks.
Located on the B981 just outside Crossgates
Farm shop open Fridays Saturdays and Sundays 9am until 3pm.
