Why is supermarket honey so cheap? (Spoiler: it’s not actually honey)

A professional beekeeper told us that most supermarket honey is:
• Pasteurised and heavily filtered (removes pollen, enzymes, antioxidants)
• Blended from multiple countries with vague labeling
• Often diluted with corn or rice syrup
• Produced at massive scale for consistency, not quality

Meanwhile, real honey is expensive to produce. It’s limited in supply. And it commands a price.

So when you see a jar for £3, you’re not paying for honey. You’re paying for the illusion of honey.
Mil Nádútha honey? It costs what it costs because it’s real. Raw. Single-source. Traceable to your postcode. No shortcuts.

The BBC’s Food Programme investigated global honey fraud. The findings were shocking. But here’s what we already knew: quality matters.

Taste the difference. Buy local. 🐝

New Year, new choices… same sweet tooth 😏

Now, I’m no fan of artificial sweeteners — anything lab-made and chemical is probably the worst place to start.
Sugar at least comes from a plant… but once it’s been refined to within an inch of its life, there’s not much goodness left in it.

Honey though? That’s a different story 🐝
Natural, minimally processed, full of enzymes, antioxidants and goodness that actually does something for your body — not just a quick spike and crash.

If it’s the first week of January and you’re feeling a bit sluggish, foggy or trying to stick to a healthier eating kick, swapping refined sugar for honey is a small change that can make a big difference.
A little boost, a little balance, and a lot more flavour.

No fads. No nonsense. Just letting the bees do what they do best 🍯✨
