The East Leake Open Gardens is returning on Sunday 5 July — and we’re looking for wonderful local volunteers to open up their gardens to the public!

Do you have:
🌼 A blooming backyard?
🌳 A hidden green oasis?
🌺 A courtyard full of colour?
🌻 A veg patch you’re proud of?

Whether your garden is big or small, perfectly manicured or beautifully wild — we’d love you to be part of this fantastic community event!

Finding it difficult to break old habits 😅so here’s an event board update!

Morning! How are you? Feels very strange not seeing you all on a regular basis!

We had a crazy time emptying out the shop and handing back the keys but then a two week holiday in Cyprus for our nephew’s wedding was just what we needed!

Back home now and the build continues - big progress - we now have hot water and plaster is going on some walls today!

I thought I’d just put it on here that the 2026 East Leake Calendars are now on sale at Googie's Flowers Ltd, Nags Head East Leake and The Round RobINN . They will also be on sale at the Christmas Craft Fair and Christmas Light Switch On on 29 November on the Leakey Bottle Gin Stall - just £5 each (cash only) - I’ve not ordered quite as many as last year, so don’t delay getting yours - there are some fabulous photos again this year of our lovely village ☺️

So today we closed our door at The Greengrocer for the final time.

A day of mixed emotions - excitement for our retirement, but sadness as it’s the end of an era.

For almost 13 years to the day we’ve served our community, had so much fun, endless chats, with so many laughs, and made many good friends along the way - we’ve loved every minute.

Thank you to all our lovely customers for supporting our little shop over the years ♥️

We’ve got a lot going on at the moment, so we have decided to make closing at 1pm a permanent thing …. ☺️
