Our rare breed Gloucester Old spot herd is located on our farm in North Nottighamshire where pigs have been the heart of the farm for generations.Our aim is to produce a happy pig,that produces the finest quality pork which tastes like pork used to taste.Our pigs are hand reared in the traditional way,kept outdoors, in small family groups,fed a varied diet including pig nuts,grass,waste fruit and
vegetables. They are allowed to develope at a normal,stress free pace,maturing more slowly than intensively reared commericial pigs.This results, in pork that is succulent,juicy and with an amazing depth of flavour, producing superb crackling. Rare breed Old spot pork is sought after by leading chefs and gourmets alike, an old spot dish was the winning main dish in 'The Great Britsh Menu 2009'. All our meat is prepared by our award winning local butcher and all our pig activities and supplies are sourced from start to finish within a 15 mile radius,giving us a very green and low carbon footprint.
