Missed another surgery today. I blame my 30th in the past few months since I got to my 30s my health was not great but what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger!

This week has been an absolute rollercoaster — from hospital visits to having some of the busiest days we’ve had in a long time. What a ride. ❤️

First of all, thank you to everyone who came in, checked up on me, and asked how I was doing. I’m absolutely fine — I just need a bit of time to heal properly and get back to 100%.

Definitely not the start to the week I was expecting… but it ended on a very high note. Once again, hundreds of people came through the shop, and so many of you asked where we’re moving and when. The truth is — we still don’t have the answers yet. But trust me, the second we know more, you guys will be the first to hear about it. And believe me… I’ll tease it as much as I can, so you’re all in for the ride. 👀

This week was also all about the new pasta, and honestly, the reaction has been incredible. I don’t think we’ve ever had so many people excited about a new product before.

Yes, it’s more affordable and less humanly involved than our handmade pasta, but that doesn’t mean we care any less about quality. Controlling the process, making sure the texture, flavour, and consistency are there every single time — that’s still completely on us, and we’ll make sure every batch that hits the shelves is something we’re proud of.

WE ARE MOVING
(This is not an April Fool’s)!

It’s been an incredible five years at this little shop.

From dreaming it all up around the dining table in our one-bedroom flat in Gullane, to creating a space we never thought we’d actually build — this shop has meant more to us than we could ever put into words.

We’re beginning the process of moving on and we are now looking for a business who may be interested in taking over our lease and making this space their own.

This week? Absolute chaos — the good kind.

We went into it knowing there was a festival in Portobello, thinking we’d casually cook some pasta for a one-off pasta night — takeaway or sit-in, nothing too crazy. We’ve done things like this before, and if anything, we thought people might skip it… “we’ll catch the next one” kind of vibe.

Well… there was no “next one” energy about it.

From the moment we opened the doors, there was a queue out the door — and it didn’t stop. We cooked non-stop until we sold out in about an hour. 50–60 covers, just the two of us… basically one pasta every minute. Still trying to wrap our heads around that.

Honestly, we didn’t expect it at all.

We really hope everyone who came down enjoyed it as much as we did (even if it was slightly… intense on our side). And a big thank you to our neighbours for opening their doors, hosting some of you, and turning it into what we’re pretty sure was one of the more romantic pasta nights in a while.

On another note… Edinburgh Marathon is just around the corner, and we’ve got something coming for that 👀
