🍭 Edinburgh Castle rock is a traditional Scottish confection, and is quite distinct from conventional rock. It consists of sugar, water, cream of tartar, colourings and flavourings. It is formed into sticks, and has a soft and crumbly texture. It simply melts in the mouth.
🍭 Edinburgh rock was first made in the 19th Century by a man named Alexander Ferguson, who became known as 'Sweetie Sandy'. Alexander was born in Doune, Perthshire in 1789. He learned the trade in , and then moved to Edinburgh to set up his own business. The success of Edinburgh rock was such that he was able to retire back to Doune a very rich man‼️

This August @ Bonnie & Wild Market have not one but 2️⃣ White Heather Club ‼️Join us on Thursday August 15th & Thursday August 29th for an evening of Scottish country dancing - as we celebrate the Edinburgh Fringe Festival‼️💃🕺

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Whether you're a local or a visitor, a regular of the Fringe or a first-time attendee, all are warmly welcomed to the this month. Edinburgh's best night out is a fun, friendly and frenetic Scottish country dancing event!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 With the music and the foot-stomping dancing kicking off from 8pm, you can expect to be whirled, twirled and 'birled' as Charlie Kirkpatrick and his band takes you through a medley of traditional music.
