Crystallised Honey, what it means and what to do🍯
OSR (Oilseed R**e) honey, often produced during the spring months when oilseed r**e fields are in bloom, is a common source of honey for beekeepers - giving a cloudier looking honey crop
OSR honey tends to set hard due to its high glucose content from the OSR and is a great sign for the level of quality of the honey. It can still be used in a crystallised state if you prefer, perfect for being sprinkled on porridge!
To de-crystalise your honey, all you need is the warm water from your kitchen tap and a small bowl:
Let the water run so it gets nice and warm,
place your jar of honey in the bowl and add water until it's about three-quarters up the side of the jar.
Using a teaspoon stir the honey gently and continuously, making sure not to splash water into your jar - when runny again….Enjoy 😋
