Wine bar open Friday & Saturday nights - 6pm to 10pm. Starter Culture was founded in September 2019 by Rachna Dheer. A female driven team, our independent shop in the Southside of Glasgow sells a wide range of cheeses, drinks and deli items, such as baked goods, charcuterie and other nibbles and accompaniments from the b

est local suppliers around. Plus, you can also pick up some of our pretty tasty grilled cheese sandwiches to keep your hunger pangs at bay. Click & collect in-store, or UK-wide delivery available.

We have plenty of tasting events happening this month! For all who have wanted to come to one or for anyone who has been in the past and enjoyed themselves we have lots of space so get your tickets before they sell out!

All events for this month are up on our website where you can buy tickets, we have Julys tasting events online now also for anyone planning ahead.

These events are a great way to relax and discover new and interesting wines which we pair with our extensive cheese selection, giving you a complete artisan tasting experience in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Ribblesdale blue goats cheese has a distinct freshness you get from goats milk and the spiciness you get from the punchy blue veins that run through out the cheese.

Clean, milky aroma with a hint of earthiness from the blue. Creamy, tangy and a little sweetness follows.

Formajo Ciock is a unique, semi-hard Italian cows milk cheese from the Veneto region 🇮🇹

The cheese is steeped in grape pomace for 10-15 days causing the residue to cling to the characteristically dark rind and help gives the cheese a slightly piquant flavour. Sweet and fragrant with notes of ripe fruit!

So excited to have this year’s batch of Goats Curd back in our cheese fridge, A true sign of Spring 🐐🌼

This soft and creamy curd is made in Worcestershire using goats milk, it has some citrus notes with a mild, clean goat flavour.

Priced at 3£ per 100g (roughly a big scoop)
It’s a perfect cheese to bring along to picnics or to have for lunches.
