Our supper club with Kathy Slack last night got us thinking.

When did it become too much to ask to know where our food came from? To eat with the seasons. To slow down long enough to notice what’s growing around us.

The conversation wandered from vegetable patches to nervous systems, from burnout to belonging. But it kept returning to the same idea: food tastes different when there’s a connection behind it.

Maybe it’s not too much to ask after all.

Scent has a way of bottling up memories. A moment, a feeling, a place you didn’t know you were holding onto, and then suddenly, in one breath, you’re right back there.

This June, Jo Malone London is coming to Peterley Manor Farm for an exclusive afternoon celebrating their new limited-edition Scents of Britain collection. A fragrance journey rooted, quite literally, in the vegetable patch.

On Friday 12th June, step through the farm gate and into The Shed for an afternoon where the kitchen garden, the kitchen itself, and the art of slow, sensory pleasure all come together.

The afternoon includes a Kitchen Garden tour with our resident horticulturalist Sam, hands-on seed sowing to take home, an afternoon tea inspired by the collection’s own ingredients, and an intimate fragrance talk from Jo Malone London.

You’ll also leave with a goodie bag worth £25 and a £20 voucher to spend on the day.

The music at Father’s Fest this year is something a little special.

A band shaped by decades in and around the music industry; recording with George Harrison, touring with Sade, collaborating with artists from Jamiroquai and Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra. Brothers whose original songs ask you to slow down and actually listen. And a duo who’ve played everywhere from West End stages to Dollywood.

Swipe to meet the artists bringing Father’s Fest 2026 to life.

Sunday 21st June, doors open 1pm. Tickets at the link in bio.

Chelsea Flower Show is in full swing and we can’t think of a better moment to introduce you to the woman bringing her Gold Medal expertise to Peterley this June.

Catherine Gibbon is a 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medallist, and on Saturday 6th June she’s joining us at The Herb House for an intimate morning masterclass on summer containers. Whether you’ve got a whole garden to fill or a single pot by the door, she’ll show you exactly how to choose, layer, and combine plants for displays that genuinely turn heads, and keep going all summer long.

The morning includes a masterclass with Catherine, a guided nursery tour, light refreshments, and a £20 plant voucher to spend in our nursery on the day.

Spaces are limited, book here: https://peterleymanorfarm.co.uk/summer-blooms-in-pots-a-masterclass-with-cfs-gold-medallist-catherine/

Meet our newest flatbread: the one with goats curd and seasonal pickings from the Kitchen Garden.
Just a short stroll from the Barn Kitchen, our kitchen garden is finally beginning to hit its stride after nearly a year of growing, planting and tending the polytunnel and farm fields. What started as seedlings is now making its way straight onto the plate.

Right now, that means homegrown radish, cima di rapa, salad leaves, dill, chervil, lovage and nasturtiums, finished with a herby green drizzle made entirely from garden herbs. The asparagus comes from our farming friends at near Oxford, but everything else is picked fresh from the field just moments before service.

No air miles, no warehouses, no long supply chains. Just ingredients grown a few hundred yards from the kitchen and cooked the same day.

It’s tasting pretty special already.💚

Here’s what’s on the menu for our Rough Patch fireside supper with Kathy Slack.

An evening shaped by the season, cooked over fire and gathered around long tables beside the flames. Food grown from the Peterley kitchen garden, shared alongside stories of restoration, growing and finding sanctuary in the soil.

Kathy’s book Rough Patch tells the story of how a difficult chapter led her back to the garden; and how cooking, growing and the quiet rhythm of tending something living became a way back to herself. It’s a story about food, but also about healing, connection and the restorative power of nature.

Expect honest, vegetable-led cooking, thoughtful conversation, and a slower kind of evening on the farm.

Thursday 4th June 2026
7pm–10.30pm
The Barn Kitchen, Peterley Manor Farm

Every ticket includes a copy of Rough Patch, with Kathy joining us throughout the evening to cook, talk and sign books.

Secure your seat at the table via the link in bio.

We’re bringing Kathy Slack back to the farm and we cannot wait.

’s new book Rough Patch is the story of how a difficult chapter led her back to the soil, and how a kitchen garden became her sanctuary. It’s honest, hopeful, and quietly life-changing.

This June, we’re shaping an evening around it. Fire pits. Long sharing tables. A seasonal feast cooked outdoors from the Peterley kitchen garden. Kathy cooking alongside you, talking, and signing books late into the evening.

Come if you need a moment of stillness. Come if you want to hear a story about returning home to yourself; or come if you just want really good food and woodsmoke on a summer’s evening.

The farm shop has always been a pride point for us. This past year, we opened a whole new chapter.

A cheese room with over 40 artisan varieties. An in-house butchery where whole carcasses from farmers we know by name are broken down by hand; dry-aged steaks, handmade sausages, marinades made on site.

A deli counter where everything is made from scratch in the Peterley kitchen, with homegrown veg, cheese from next door, and meat from the butchery.

No self-serve tills. Staff who remember you and the details that matter. Over 100 suppliers, local makers and artisanal producers with a story behind what they grow. Lower food miles, higher quality, and a philosophy built around seasonal eating and supporting farmers doing it properly.

It’s not a formula. It’s a way of doing things we genuinely believe in.

So, we were proud to hear it’s being recognised. The Peterley Farm Shop has been named a finalist in the Muddy Stilettos Bucks & Oxon Awards for ‘Best Farm Shop / Deli’.

If you believe in what we’re building, we’d love your vote. Head to the link in bio and select ‘Best Farm Shop / Deli’.
