Easter 2026!!

We’re having a little family time this Easter weekend so while our incredible team of Goats hold down the fort this weekend and make sure you’re well taken care of in the shop our hours are tweaked a little. So to be sure you don’t have to miss out on those essential Easter goodies here’s our opening hours for this Easter weekend!!

Friday 3rd: 9am - 3pm.
Saturday 4th: 9am -4pm.
Sunday 5th: Closed.
Monday 6th: Closed.
Tuesday 7th Onwards: 9am - 4pm.
(Closed on Sundays as usual)

However you’re spending this Easter weekend whether it’s scoffing chocolate, hunting eggs, spending time with family & friends or just relaxing we hope you have a wonderful time.

It’s our shop-iversary!!

Three years ago today we opened our little local larder and we still love our wee sanctuary as much as the first time we laid eyes on it!

Our boys have grown up here, we’ve collaborated with so many amazing people and businesses, created a wonderful little team of staff and been able to be our creative selves all in a job/s that we love!!

From 11am on Monday we’ll be celebrating with free samples, including homemade lemonades, sausage rolls and some of our preserves so pop in for a visit and celebrate with us.

Tomorrow marks the last day for voting in the ‘Rural Oscars’ created by the Countryside Alliance Awards for our category of Local Food & Drink so if you want to make our shop-iversary extra special then we’d love any votes. The links are still available from our website and from our instagram profile!

Here’s to many more years serving the people we love in the community that we love!

Victories of a technophobe!

I may not be technically gifted but today (I have to admit) I’m a bit chuffed with myself! Not only did I manage to overcome the challenge of the links not working for voting in the Countryside Alliance Rural Oscars BUT I’ve also created Online Gift Vouchers so that if you haven’t the time to pop in and pick up a voucher or if you live too far away to visit, you have an easy and personal option as a gift for that special someone. Victory!!

To find our Online Gift Vouchers visit our website by clicking on the link in our Facebook or instagram profile page. In the top bar of the homepage of our website you will find a button for ‘Gift Card’ which will take you straight to the page. You even have the option to combine multiple people contributing to the gift voucher and can delay the dispatch of the gift voucher until a specific date to allow everyone to contribute! Your loved one will then receive a text or email of their voucher (which can even be added to an apple wallet for extra technical skill points) and pop in at their leisure to choose some special treats for themselves!

If you’ve struggled to get my links working for the Countryside Alliance Awards you now can find the link on our website along with a QR Code or alternatively we have added the link to our Instagram profile page which should take you straight to the survey. Every vote counts and we now have just under two weeks until voting closes!

Created by the talented hands of Fiona from Pyrus Botanicals and grown only 6.3 miles away in a Victorian walled garden. The perfect little touch of Spring for your home or a gift for someone special!

Available from tomorrow until they’re sold out with only a limited number available so why not combine a trip to Haddington Farmers Market with popping into the shop!?

Let’s celebrate a local businesses, suppliers and wonderful people!
Meet Raph who is the fantastic founder and, alongside her talented team, baker of Station House Bakery in Haddington!!

Many of you may know her very well from the Bakery Pop Up and Haddington monthly Market but did you know that we’ve worked together since the very first day we opened!?

After stopping by her stall each month when our youngest and me scooted (that’s right I’m an adult who likes a scooter, if you can’t beat them then why not join them) across Haddington to his football lessons to pick up our post footy pastry treat there was no doubt that such an incredible local maker and creator was exactly who we wanted to support and showcase in the shop and we're so glad she agreed! Almost three years later we still love working together!

Her sourdough’s are the perfect balance of crisp crust and soft centre, we can’t resist our weekly seeded loaf to pair with a poached egg and avocado with a melt in the mouth Pasteis de Nata for a post dinner treat! What are your favourites?

Each week Station House Bakery hold Pop Ups from the bakery up at the perfectly named ‘Station Yard’ in Haddington where breads and pastries can be ready to purchase from 8.30am onwards Wednesday to Friday!

Or pair a trip to collect Station House Bakery breads and pastries from ourselves on a Thursday and Friday with a visit to Haddington High Street and town centre for a catch up or wander.

You can't get much more local than 0.7 miles from door to door, thank you for working with us Raph, let's hope we can continue to celebrate many more years working together!

Thank you so much to Kieran from East Pizzas for bringing along lots of delicious pizzas for all our customers to sample and ‘Share the Love’ today!

It was great to see so many of you pop in for a chat and a sample, it was a huge success so maybe we’ll have to repeat it again in the Summer…..

For now ‘Happy Valentines’ to you all, we hope you all have a wonderful rest of the weekend whether you’re ‘Sharing the Love’ with a partner, friend, family or just enjoying some time to yourself with a good old box of chocs and a duvet.

Our 'Sharing the Love' collaboration just got even better!!

Don't forget that from 11am until 1pm tomorrow we have the wonderful Edinburgh based East Pizza's coming in to offer samples of their delicious Sourdough Pizza's, cooked fresh from their very own mini pizza oven!

To add to this exciting collaboration, Yester Farm Dairies kindly made the trip over (in the snow!) to drop off some of their delicious Fior di Latte Mozzarella which will be available to purchase from our fridges to top the East Pizza's, pizza bases. We love everything Yester farm Dairies produces, you'll find a lot of their products in our creations including our Granola Pots featuring their Greek style Yoghurt, their Mozzarella is just as incredible and it's from only 8 miles away!

Tomorrow we'll have some samples available of Yester's Mozzarella, for those crust dippers out there we will have some of our ketchups to taste and our ever popular Pumpkin Butter for those of you who fancy varying it up from a tomato base on your pizza.

We can't wait to see you all and 'Share the Love' with you all this Valentines!

Have you grabbed yourself a copy of the beautiful Land, Sea & Hills Book yet!?

Featuring the most incredible collection of recipes and stories from so many of the fantastic local growers, farmers, businesses and kitchens of East Lothian it is truly inspirational. Even the description of the book itself as 'celebrating the recipes, flavours and people who capture the spirit of the county' is the perfect explanation of this book.

We're so proud to call East Lothian our home so it was one of our proudest moments to be invited to be included in a book that celebrates our wonderful little County and to be able to provide a recipe for such a stunning book.

It has been an exciting couple of months for The Foraging Goat so in celebration of both the new Land, Sea & Hills book and our nomination by our very own customers for a 'Rural Oscar' at the Countryside Alliance Awards (the winner of which won't be announced until May but which voting is still open for...), we're going to attempt to become slightly better at social-media-ing.... this feels like it should be a word... and share with you the fantastic local producers, growers and makers that you can find in our shop so keep an eye out and hopefully we can inspire you to find your next favourite treat and discover something you haven't spotted in the shop yet.

Share the Love!!

On Saturday the 14th of February we will be collaborating with East Pizzas to offer all our lovely customers samples of their new Sourdough Pizza's!! Be sure to pop in between 11am and 1pm just in case all the samples disappear.....

The bases are made with just the three simple ingredients Flour, Water & Salt then proved for 72 hours to create the perfect pizza base. Available as bases or topped to become a Margherita, Pepperoni or Spicy Pizza you can choose whatever you're in the mood for (or have the time for) to make a delicious and slightly less guilty dinner treat, they are sourdough after all.

Released for retail in December, these delicious Sourdough Pizzas have been flying out ever since so for those of you who haven't been lucky enough to enjoy one of their pizzas yet then this is the perfect chance to find out what you've been missing. Freshly baked in a little pizza oven we'll be serving up samples alongside the wonderful Kieran from East Pizzas and 'Sharing the Love' this Valentine's Day.

We're sooo excited!!!

We are so proud (and thrilled) to have been nominated by a customer for a Countryside Alliance Award, also known as a Rural Oscar (and who doesn't want to win an Oscar...)! We may never know who it was or how many customers nominated us but we couldn't be more honoured that someone took time out of their day and felt strongly enough about our business to nominate us for this award, even getting to the finals themselves is a huge achievement for our little business and the most wonderful surprise.

We've been selected to compete in the Scottish Finals with five other businesses in the Best Local Food & Drink category for championing the local food makers, producers, growers and suppliers which in our County isn't hard, we're spoilt with the number of incredible options we have in East Lothian and so proud to have a shop where we can showcase some of our favourites as well as use the local, seasonal produce in all of our very own homemade products.

As the only East Lothian business in the running in any category of the Scottish Finals of the Countryside Alliance Awards we would love all of your support in not only giving us a chance to be crowned the winners but to also make sure our incredible County is represented and show just how much we have to offer the Country.
