We have completed the sale of the shop(finally) Thanks from me personally for all your kind words and encouragement over the last 3.5 weeks. Well this one has been a little hard to write and it’s a little long but it’s a beautiful morning to announce the start of the next chapter for Roots Fruits.

We’re pleased to announce that we have sold the shop and we feel we are lucky to have found a wonderful family to take the shop to the next level and through its next chapter.

More importantly we feel that Miras and Vikas are the perfect people with the same ethos and ethics. They have the same passion to promote local suppliers and offer the best local and UK fresh produce they possibly can whilst continuing to serve the local community wherever they can.

Having moved to Yorkshire from Chelsea two years ago looking for a calmer life… they love it here - but who wouldn’t?

They are already a strong part of the Boroughbridge community as owners of FINK of Boroughbridge, their family run Greengrocers and Farm Shop.

Fink is actually the previous owners name but that’s part of what they bought into, it works and they haven’t changed it.

They use the same suppliers and local producers and have no plans to change anything other than introduce new products that we know you will love.

All residential, workplace and commercial deliveries will continue as is with no changes bar that of payment details so nothing to fear and James will be around for a few months to offer continuity for our wonderful customers.

So back to us… what a journey!

We are proud of what we have achieved over the past 8 years and where we have taken Roots & Fruits. It’s not been easy at times especially steering the shop through the pandemic but with the commitment of a strong team and members of the local community coming out to lend a hand we did it! To those people we are eternally grateful.

We would like to thank our wonderful suppliers who kept the stock flowing throughout our journey - when you support your local shop you support a long chain of local people making it happen - and we can’t thank you, our customers, for supporting us.

We say customers but most have become friends. We’re going to miss our chats and catchups be it in the shop or on the doorstep. That said we’ll still be around for a chinwag on the street - it’s just we’ll be customers too!

We can’t thank you enough for supporting us and you will forever be in our hearts.

We ask only that you continue to support Roots & Fruits, look out for each other and be kind.
