A little something different from the usual butchery videos… 🥋🥩
This is part of my Jiu-Jitsu journey.
For me, training isn’t really about learning to fight — it’s what helps my mental health.
When I’m on the mats, the noise in my head shuts off. I’m not thinking about the shop, work, bills or everything else going on in life. For that hour or two, my head is quiet.
Since giving up drinking, I honestly haven’t found anything else that comes close to giving me that feeling.
Four years sober and still figuring things out as I go.
Jiu-Jitsu has become a massive part of that journey and one of the things that keeps me going. ❤️
In the first few pictures, I had only been training for around 6 months — and I was still drinking heavily at the time. Looking back, it’s mad to see the difference in where I was then compared to now.
And this is exactly why I’m doing The Great British Butchers Charity Calendar 2027 — to raise money and awareness for Mental Health UK. ❤️
We are SO close to making this happen. 🙏
We just need THREE more 12-month sponsors to help us get the calendar produced and over the line.
As a 12-month sponsor, your business will:
🥩 Have your company logo featured on every month of the calendar
📱 Receive shout-outs across our social media, with the 12 butchers having a combined following of over 380,000
❤️ And most importantly, you’ll be helping us raise as much money as possible for Mental Health UK
If your business would like to be one of those final three sponsors, please drop me a message. Even sharing this post might help us find the businesses we need. 🙏
A massive thank you to everyone at Darkstar Jiu-Jitsu, and especially the early morning crew — the Salty Seas 🤙🥋 — for letting me join the early morning sessions.
You probably don’t realise just how important those mornings on the mats are to me.
Behind every business is a person, and this is a little bit of the person behind P. A. Fisher & Son. 🥩❤️
And for the BJJ fans… how many of the famous faces in the video can you name? 👀🥋
