Gear Farm Pasty Co

Gear Farm Pasty Co We only sell our products here at the farm. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00-2:00.

The Gear Farm Pasty Company was founded in 1999 by David Webb whose passion is to provide a top quality product using ingredients grown and produced here on the farm in the beautiful fields which surround us. Our pasties are made fresh daily by hand using the same methods and ingredients used by generations of Cornish folk before us.

We’re still a little bit in shock here at Gear Farm… what an incredible few days it has been.

Having Prince William visit us on St Piran’s Day was something we never could have imagined when we first started making pasties here on the farm. It was a real honour to show him what we do and to share a small part of Cornish food and farming.

But what really made the day special was the support from our amazing local community.

To everyone who came down, waved flags, cheered from the roadside, shared kind messages online, or simply popped in for a pasty and wished us luck — thank you. Your support means the world to our small family business.

We’re incredibly proud to represent this part of Cornwall and the hardworking people who make it such a special place.

The last few days have been a whirlwind, but we’re back doing what we do best… making proper Cornish pasties.

Thank you all for being part of our story.

❤️

Josie is going to have a nice surprise at 1:45 when collecting her pasties and she realises it was the Duke of Cornwall answering the phone. Happy St. Piran’s Day everyone!

🥟 AIR FRYER PASTY? 🥟

Cooking for 1 or 2 people and don’t want to fire up the whole oven?

Here’s how to cook your Gear Farm standard pasty to perfection using an air fryer:

❄️ Cook from frozen:
• 160°C
• 25 minutes to start
• Flip pasty over and give it another 20 minutes
• Turn pasty back over and give it a final 10 minutes
• Leave to stand for 10 minutes before enjoying

Top tip: If the crust is browning too quickly near the end, wrap foil over the top for the last few minutes.

Perfect for:
• A quick midweek tea
• Lunch for two
• When the rest of the house “isn’t hungry” (until they smell it 👀)

Why don’t we do pasties by post? 🥟📦

It’s one of the questions we are asked the most. We’ve thought long and hard about postal pasties and for now we’ve made the decision not to offer them.

From the number of enquiries we receive, introducing postal pasties would likely mean at least a 200% increase in production. On paper, that sounds brilliant.

The reality?
It would mean scaling up — and that’s where quality can slip. If there’s one thing we won’t compromise on, it’s quality. Every pasty we make is made and sold properly. By hand. On the farm. With care. We’re proud of what leaves our ovens — and we don’t want to dilute that.

The honest truth?
We don’t have ambitions to become huge. We don’t want to become a production factory. We want to stay a proper family farm bakery serving the wider community.

That means keeping things manageable, keeping standards high and keeping the Gear Farm way exactly that — ours.

Thank you for all the support, the encouragement and the belief in what we do. It genuinely means the world.

For now, if you want a pasty… you’ll have to come and see us.

When Storm Goretti tore through our community last week, it left more than damaged roads, roofs, water supplies and power lines in its wake — it left a tragedy in our local village of Mawgan.

But in the days that followed, something powerful happened. Neighbours showed up with tools, time, and helping hands. Roads were cleared, roofs patched, and spirits lifted. People rallied around providing hot food, sharing freezer space and checking on their neighbours. What could have divided us instead brought us closer together.

Storm Goretti may have damaged our infrastructure, but it also reminded us of our strength. When we stand together, no storm can break our community.

The road to Gear Farm from Mawgan was left impassable. Now, 7 days later thanks to the community coming together I am pleased to say that the road is completely cleared, including the tree that had slipped down onto the road by Rock Cottage. A great team effort.

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of James Southey from Mawgan who passed away during the storm. We are grateful to the emergency service teams who responded to this tragedy.
