The farm. The breed. The person who raised it. The butcher who’s been here, in the middle of Henley, long enough to know exactly what you need before you’ve finished asking.

It’s not healthy. You don’t know where it’s been. It’s wrapped in more plastic than a 1980s action figure and it’s been staring up at you under fluorescent lighting for four days.

Here’s how we’re opening at Machins:

🥩 Good Friday — open ‘til 1pm (early doors for the best cuts)
🔥 Saturday — business as usual
🚪 Sunday / Monday / Tuesday — closed

Yes, really.

Well… this escalated.

Meridian TV have tracked Barry down in Dubai and he’ll be on **Friday night’s Meridian News** talking about how he’s coping in the middle of it all.

It goes without saying the situation there is incredibly serious, and our thoughts are with everyone affected. We’re simply relieved that Barry is safe and able to share his experience.

He’s well, he’s steady, and very much bearing up.

Main hardship so far? Lager at £16 a pint. (Thoughts and prayers!).

We’ll be watching proudly.

He’s safe, in good spirits, and keeping up with all official advice locally. We’re in regular contact and he’s being sensible (yes, really).
