What are your plans for this Bank Holiday weekend? Hopefully they’ll incorporate cheese somewhere along the way.
I’ve managed to get my hands on another couple of boxes of Punch, the brand new summer cheese from Honestly it’s like gold dust at the moment so first come first served I’m afraid! Pungent and soft with ye**ty meaty flavours and a hint of fruitiness.
I also have Town Crier, a Taleggio inspired washed rind made by Mario as well as the ever popular Newcastle Brown Ale washed Admiral Collingwood from in Northumberland. So if you enjoy your bold, pungent flavours pop in to grab some before they go.
I’m in my St Andrew Street shop today as usual, then 10-4pm tomorrow for your choice of weekend cheese treats🧀

3 fabulous cheeses from back in this week, all made with their own raw milk:
Barlocco Blue - a strong spicy Stilton like blue but with an underlying creaminess
Fleet Valley Blue - award winning piquant and earthy creamy blue
Rainton Tomme - beautifully savoury with an open texture and creamy finish
The Ethical Dairy are becoming more widely known because of their pioneering research work proving that cows with calves are a viable method of dairy farming, encouraging more farmers to consider it to improve animal welfare. This has culminated in a book and a documentary feature film A Dairy Story, being shown at cinemas across the UK. An incredible journey and life’s work for David and Wilma Finlay who are the farmers and scientists behind the project.
If you’d like to sample some of their delicious cheese, I’ll be in the shop again 10-3pm tomorrow and Saturday, then at at 10-3pm on Sun 5th July😊🧀

What are you all doing to keep cool at the mo? I’m currently cutting cheese with an ice pack stuffed down my bra…..don’t laugh, it works!😆
On a more serious note, don’t forget us small local independent traders during this weather. We’re still opening and would love to see you coming through our doors, even if it is to have a little moan about the heat!🥵 After all it’s what us Brits do best apparently, apart from cheese that is😉🧀
I’ll be in the shop again tomorrow and Saturday 10-3pm. Then at Woolmer Green Village Hall Farmers Market 9-1pm on Sunday.
Hope to see some of you soon🙂
