Warm weather is on the horizon, just in time for Bank Holiday Monday and half term☀️ Whether you’re planning a BBQ, a picnic or a simple salad, I have a range of lovely fresh light summer cheeses including sheep’s, goat’s and softs.
New season Pyghtle is back in, a soft lactic sheep’s cheese made by Emily Tydeman at Initially delicate with a light fruity flavour, it becomes more savoury and complex as it matures.
The semi-soft St Helena is also back in with a gentle milky sweetness. Made at .judecheese by Blake Bowden and Julie Cheyney in Norfolk.
Halloumi type, Sutton Brue will BBQ and grill beautifully whilst feta-like Wissington is delicious crumbled into salads.
If you’re looking for something a bit punchier, cider washed Yarlington from or brine washed St Cera fit the bill; both oozy, pungent and fruity with farmyardy notes.
Pop into the shop this weekend; I’ll be there today, Friday and Saturday 10-3pm. Then on Sunday I’m at 9-1pm🧀

Along with the lovely Spring weather, we welcome the change of season with lighter fresh cheeses. New in this week:
Sutton Brue made from water buffalo milk . A firm grilling cheese similar to halloumi, it is rich and creamy in flavour. Ideal for your barbecues this bank holiday weekend.
Wissington also makes a return. Similar to feta, this works beautifully diced or crumbled into salads or melted over the top of pasta bakes. Made by Becky Enefer who also makes the popular sheep’s brie Norfolk White Lady.
Lastly, one of my favourites, Brightwell Ash made by in Carmarthenshire. A delightful soft goat’s cheese covered in ash, lending the fresh citrus notes a slight pepperiness along with a silky texture.
I’m in the shop today and Saturday until 3pm, then at for Farmers and Craft Market 10-3pm Sunday🧀☀️
