Russell's Plaice Highcliffe Fresh From Our Boats – Local seafood, landed by us, enjoyed by you. I then moved to the old ice cream parlour outside the paddle restaurant.

My name is Russell and I am a local fisherman at Mudeford and Lymington quay where I keep my fishing boat. I have been a commercial fisherman since I left school at 16 and soon after gained my skipper licence. Prior to that I was involved with various local angling competitions and even graced the front pages of a few of the UK fishing magazines! I started Russell’s plaice in 2010, with a small fi

sh stall outside Dave’s fruit and veg shop in Highcliffe. I am there every Saturday morning selling fresh fish and shellfish, most of which is caught by me and my crew. For every fish there’s a story! I take pride in supplying fresh local seafood. You will not find fish any fresher than buying directly from your local fisherman! We support other fisherman by buying their catch too!

🎉 Russell is HOME! ❤️
After a tough battle, Russell is finally home from hospital with antibiotics 💪 We’re hoping and praying he stays out for good, sepsis-free and on the road to recovery. 🙏

He’s got bloods and a scan next week – and if all goes well, that could be the all-clear we’ve been waiting for! ✨

A huge thank you to Bournemouth Hospital – truly home to some of the best and most skilled nurses in the country. 💕 They’ve been nothing short of incredible.

🌞🐟 We’re back in action this Saturday from 7:00 AM – rise and shine for the freshest catch around! ⚓✨

🐟 We’re gutted to say Russell’s been re-admitted to Bournemouth Hospital, so we won’t be open this Saturday. He’s in good hands and being well looked after — our main focus is getting him back on his feet.
