It's days like today u appreciate the the good times & wonderful customers we had . Dawn Horton & her hubby visited me at farmshop today with a card & her famous sweet treats ( can't resist ) . Hi everyone! Hope you all alright!
Just to say it’s been a tough last couple weeks for us with emotions running high!
We cannot thank you all enough for your numerous good luck/thank you / sorry cards , your gifts of choccies, flowers and the alcohol (you know us so well)lol!
We’ve had an emotional week saying goodbye to lots of customers, old and new, young and old. Also to businesses we’ve supplied for many years.
Had a fabulous surprise visit from our fantastic firefighters from Huddersfield red watch who we’ve been proud to supply for many years .
As most of you know Nigel starts his new job on Tuesday. He’s nervous , as expected , but also excited. A new adventure for him!

One last mention goes to the backbone of our business for the last 15 years , our Steve dove.
He left us to start his new venture back in April. He was a big part of quality butchers and we were sorry to see him go.he’s happily settled into his new job and we wish him and his family all the best!

We would also like to wish dohertys pies ( Southawrm/Halifax ) the very best for the future. They have fabulous suppliers over the years and will continue to supply in town at Prichard’s ( formerly crawshaws)
So please support them 🥟🥧

Hi everyone! Hope you all coping ok with this hot weather 🥵

Just to remind all our fabulous customers that we on our last week trading 😢so stocks will be getting low now.
We really not looking forward to this this week and it’s going to be hard so please bear with us if we not our usual selves.
We’ve already said our goodbyes to
some customers as they on hols next week.
It is only now that it’s ‘ sinking in’ that we will be giving up something we’ve worked so hard for over the years that we’ve not had family hols or much time to ourselves or our daughters. Most of you know our eldest daughter Lauren ( who worked for us) is in Australia .
With this in mind we may one day get to to out there as a family 🙏

Hi everyone! Hope all ok and enjoying the hols! 🌞

As you all know there is big plans in process for Huddersfield including the relocation of Queensgate market traders due at the end of October .
Nigel and I have taken the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make and decided we will not be moving forward and not relocating. This has been heartbreaking for us both as we love our little business and worked hard over the 25yrs we’ve just celebrated in April .
So, as we are not retiring 😩we’ve had to look for employment elsewhere and Nigel has received a job offer sooner than we thought !

This means that we will cease trading on 20th august 22!

We are going through mixed emotions at moment but life goes on.

Please would you share this post ad also tell anyone you know that visits us( not everyone does social media) we always find word of mouth is a great thing .

Only difference is the market will close at 4pm on good Friday

Good Friday 9am - 4pm
Easter Saturday 9am - 5pm

We are however CLOSED on Easter Monday!

Hi everyone
After reading all your lovely messages and comments after yesterday’s post we feel we have to clear up some points !
Firstly, we are not retiring (I wish)
Secondly, it’s only the fish counter that has closed. Our butchers shop is still open. 😀
As regarding the ‘move’ it’s a sore subject with us and our fellow traders! As most of you know by now , we were supposed to be vacating queensgate by august.
We were informed 2 weeks ago this is not happening, much to our surprise. We are now told it’s going to be February!!
Many emotions going on at the moment , anger, disappointment , resentment and others 😢not just from us but all our fellow traders!
Since the closing of the multi storey car park we have suffered a HUGE loss in trade , then COVID came along for 2 years! Since the ‘getting back to normal’ we have all been struggling to keep going, some more than others.
We would like to thank you all for your concern, messages and well wishes. Very much appreciated
Look for forward to seeing on butchers now I’m out of a job 🐟

Well that’s it! Sad day for us. Our fresh fish counter is now closed 😢
Thank you to everyone for your custom over the years , much appreciated 🥰
We do, however , have some stock in our freezer as I ordered extra .
Limited stock , salmon, cod , haddock, bass fillets.

SAD NEWS
It is with sadness & regret that we have decided to close our fish counter at the end of March. This has not been as easy decision for us but factors beyond our control ie car park closing , covid & lack of footfall have all contributed to lack of trade .
We are so sorry to all our valued customers who have supported us over the years .
The last fish delivery will be week ending March 31st .
