One of the pleasures of visiting an independent deli isn’t simply buying food—it’s discovering products and flavours you’re unlikely to find during the weekly supermarket shop.

On this wall alone you’ll find Norfolk-made chutneys and preserves, local honey, artisan crackers, pâtés, truffles, speciality tinned fish, Bon Bakery biscuits, ewe’s milk cheeses and plenty more.

DELI DISCOVERY: OUR CHEESE WALL 🧀

There’s cheese… and then there’s our cheese wall.

Behind these doors you’ll find more than 80 cheeses, including over 20 made here in Norfolk, alongside British favourites and continental classics. Goat’s cheese, ewe’s milk cheese, Cheddars, blues, soft cheeses, washed rinds, Alpine styles and plenty more besides.

It’s the kind of cheese selection that is becoming increasingly difficult to find—not simply broad, but carefully chosen, properly looked after and cut by people who know it.

New on the shelves — and we can confirm they’re rather yummy too!

Simply Roasted Sea Salt Vegetable Crisps combine orange sweet potato, parsnip and beetroot in one gloriously colourful, wonderfully crunchy bag.

Triple cooked, full of flavour and made here in Norfolk. They’re also dangerously moreish — opening the bag “just to try one” may be a little optimistic.

Come on in… there’s rather more inside than you might expect.

Along one wall, you’ll find more than 80 local, British and continental cheeses, freshly cut by people who know their cheese.

Across the shop, there’s our deli counter, locally roasted coffee, Norfolk-made jams, chutneys and hundreds of products created by some of the county’s finest food and drink producers.

Upstairs, you’ll find some of the awards we’ve collected since opening in 2014. Our latest recognition is a little different: Small Business Saturday has selected The Norfolk Deli as one of The Nation’s Favourite Businesses — and we’re the only Norfolk business on this year’s list.

We may not be the biggest shop, but we’ve fitted an awful lot into it.

You can all breathe a collective sigh of relief — we’re back open!

Those who know us won’t be too surprised to hear that we didn’t spend our rare day off sitting with our feet up.

It had been a while since we last took a road trip to see who’s doing what, so yesterday we visited Norfolk Food Hall Norfolk Food Hall , The Goat Shed Goat Shed and Priors Priors of West Lynn

We genuinely love seeing how other people run their businesses. Days like these are great fun, but they’re also hugely educational. You spot ideas, discover things you may be missing and see where you could do better.

Just as importantly, stepping outside your own bubble can remind you that when you’re constantly concentrating on what needs improving, you sometimes forget to appreciate just how much you already do — and how well you do it.

We returned with plenty of ideas, lots to think about and a renewed appreciation for what we have created here in Hunstanton.

Today, however, it’s back to cutting cheese, making sandwiches and doing what we do best. We’re open!

We don’t think we’ve ever given The Bon Bakery a proper feature before—so it’s about time we did.

These Coffee & Hazelnut Biscotti are handmade in Norfolk: crisp, deeply nutty and just asking to be dunked into a good cup of coffee.

They are also a perfect example of the Norfolk-made products that aren’t always easy to discover. Small producers rarely have shelves everywhere—but bring their products together and suddenly there is an extraordinary amount to choose from.

That is what we do online: hundreds of Norfolk-made products, from dozens of Norfolk producers, all in one place—and all available in a single order.

Meet The Salty.

Generous layers of salt beef, cheese, pickles and salad, packed between two slices of bread and made fresh to order.

This is not a delicate little sandwich designed for nibbling politely. It is a proper deli sandwich, built for people who arrive hungry and expect not to leave that way.

Napkins may be required. A larger appetite certainly is.

It’s that time of the month again…

It’s the first Saturday of the month, which means The Norfolk Deli splits in two!

One half of the business is at Creake Abbey Farmers Market this morning, armed with our handmade salads and deli favourites, while the other half is keeping the yellow shop in Hunstanton running as usual.

Two locations, one Norfolk Deli — so we look forward to seeing twice as many of you!
