Wow I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted on here, as most of you know by now I've not been in the business for quite a while, ever since I realised that I had to do something to help keep the money coming in to help pay staff wages !!!! I probably should have let the business go then but I wanted one more chance because I still believed in my shop, my staff didn't and with the help of another business person they left and took over an existing cafe and introduced a deli. I would love to say that it's for this reason that we have sold our shop but in actual fact it has made very little impact on our brilliant reputation that we have, but we have sold our business and I want you to know that you have all been part of my dream however short lived it was I opened my own little shop, we served the absolute best filled rolls in this town we have shown you all what home cooked food (beef, pork, gammon) is really like and what a decent ham cob ( no see through meat here) is like. Its been an adventure and there has been a lot of tears but by god its been a learning curve also and the laughs and stories and friendships will keep me going for a long time do please, as my Martin and Dean say goodbye this week for the sake of all of our health and sanity I'm asking you to keep an eye on 143 bath street because the new owners are going to be absolutely bloody brilliant ######xx

Secondly thank you to all of you who donated money to mac millan for my half a marathon my god I appreciate it. I did the walk 2 weeks ago in heat not often seen in Wales, at the start line the organisers said this wasn't 13 miles , because of boundary issues it was 14.8 miles and it was Wales hilly isn't the word, rocky decent and inclines were the normal, the views were spectacular but unfortunately 90% of the time I was watching where I was putting my feet on the rocky uneven terrain. I think we were at a out 10 miles when we came across a descent with a macmillan volunteer warning us of shiney smooth slippery rocks, I think I went down sideways, unceremoniously 3 steps and froze. I went back up and stood and cried, this descent terrified me I couldn't do it, my good knee was hurting my bad knee (and I didn't know that I had a bad knee, but it's on my operation leg so lots of muscle missing) was hurting and all I could see looking at this descent was a broken ankle or airsea rescue !!!
The macmillan volunteer offered to help me down and not really wanting to appear on airsea rescue on BBC for the next 20 years on repeat I let him guide me down this rocky hilly fu***ng horrible descent. I will be forever grateful for the help.
I would love to say that after that it got easier but it didn't. I'd love to say I enjoyed every minute but actually , and I do apologise, Iikened it to the Bhurma death march, I growled at every photographer and believe me I definitely didn't break any time records but you know what??? I completed it. I didn't run over the finishing line, I could barely hold myself up I had cried and I had nearly given up 3 times but the thoughts of your donations and your faith in me and the fact that I'm bloody stupid and stubborn kept me going and I finished, I hobbled across the finishing line with Nicky Carless who could have finished 2 hours before me but she never left me but I finished I completed the half marathon(14.8 miles) and I'm actually quite proud of myself.
So thank you all for donating and for believing in me and for all the support that you have shown and continue to show in Steven's deli-licious.

Hello long time since i posted and I apologise but life is hectic and I'm just trying to keep moving forward and my goodness you lovely people are being so supportive so huge thanks.
We have had to say goodbye to one of our original suppliers, Spondon cheesery, thank you Pete and all of your staff you have supported us from the beginning we wish you all brilliant retirements. We have on board a fantastic company and our range may well expand, we like to keep things interesting and new at Steven's deli-licious.
For anyone who doesn't know because we have a very clever group of customers we are opening another deli / breakitessan ( lol) hopefully in July. We will also be able to offer the brilliant choices of cooked meats pies pasties fantastic filled rolls salad boxes and loads of other stuff from our sister shop !!!! Hall Street deli, top of Nottingham Road ilkeston. The name ???? If you know you know lol

You have all been absolutely brilliant with your support over the last few weeks as ever I thank you for choosing Steven's deli-licious for your deli needs. Today we have introduced you all to our 2 new members of our team the absolutely wonderful Amy and the very beautiful Helen. They have both up to now exceeded expectations and I am confident that they will be absolutely invaluable members of our fantastic team, joining Lisa and Sally who I can honestly say ,Steven's wouldn't be the same without them ###### love you all!!!

Thank you all for keep choosing Steven's deli-licious for your pies, bread, cakes and cooked meats you have been amazing in your support it means the world to me and my staff. Today has been no exception my staff have been rushed off their feet serving you all so they've all been treated to a well deserved bottle !!
A few weeks ago we had our easter raffle , nearly £200 was raised for macmillan so a massive thank you for everyone who took part and a huge well done to all of our winners , we hope you enjoyed your eggs.
Once again thank you all very much, have a lovely ba k holiday and we look forward to seeing you all next week ###

We will be having a new cake in tomorrow from the On Uppers. I've been given a sneaky look, I think it's a blueberry sponge with frosting it looks beautiful and it won't last long, we also have the famous Biscoff cake and cheese straws that the On Uppers make so brilliantly and on a slightly different note, Steven's deli-licious now stocks George Stafford Black pudding ###
