When something makes us smile as much as it tastes good, we know it has to land on our shelves. We couldn’t resist Braw Sauces, a fantastic Scottish producer with simple but brilliant branding. The names… all those familiar words reimagined in sauce form.

We’re stocking Nippy, Bampot, Roaster and Bawheid - each one with its own character, from gentle warmth to full-on fire. They’ve even produced a handy tasting card, with translations if your Scottish slang isn’t up to speed!

Braw Sauces are an award-winning, small business based in the Scottish Borders, with flavoursome and unusual sauces and big personality, and we love them. We’re proud to growing our range of Scottish products and supporting these small businesses.

PLASTIC FREE JULY 💚

Whether it’s switching bottles for bars, packing a tote bag, or reusing what you already have, every swap counts.

Some of what we do at Highland Wholefoods to keep things circulating, is we reuse all the boxes that come in to our warehouse. In the shop you’ll find a stack at the till for customers to use as we don’t sell single-use bags. We also reuse them to send out deliveries, and we’ve a funky shedding machine for the rest to be used as packing material.

Small changes make a difference, and the habits you build this month will have a lasting impact all year round. ♻️

Slow Sauce 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A new addition to our expanding range of fantastic Scottish products - there’s so much out there, we can’t keep up!!

Made by Scotland’s first miso and shoyu brewery, these small-batch sauces are bold, full of umami and vegan friendly, as well as being organic, gluten free and soy free.

Drizzle over roasted vegetables, stir into soups, use as a marinade or add a splash to your favourite stir-fry. Once you’ve tried them, there’s no going back!

It might be the weekend, but we’re not slowing down.

Just one of a few new Scottish products we’re welcoming in this year, as we continue to champion some brilliant producers.

So let’s welcome Eviedale Bakehouse in Orkney. Winners of Best New Product at the Highland and Islands Food Awards 2026 for their Beremeal Sourdough Crackers, which we got to taste on the incredible cheese board (taking one for the team again!) and couldn’t resist bringing to a wider audience.

Made with ancient bere barley, Orkney’s Viking grain, these delicious crackers have a wonderfully crisp texture and rich nutty flavour. Naturally fermented using a 10-year-old sourdough starter, they’re packed with flavour and are vegan friendly too.

Available in Original, Seeded, Chilli, and Rosemary, but be quick before we scoff them all!
