Thank you to all our loyal customers for your messages of support over the last few very stressful days your messages of support have kept us going through what was a very stressful time for us. The shop and post office have now transferred to the new owners and this page will also be transferred over soon. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your custom over the last 19 years and your cards, messages, and gifts have been truly overwhelming. We do hope you will support the new owners and welcome them into this very special community. We will be moving up to County Durham next week, onwards to new adventures together ###

UPDATE….Please note the transfer of ownership did not go as it should have on Wednesday. We did open the shop today and thank you all for your support and baring with us in what are difficult circumstances. We will continue to open the shop from 8.30 am tomorrow however there will be no newspapers or magazines and we can only take cash payments. The Post office will be closed while another audit takes place in the hope the transfer can be completed. Please bare with us at what is a very stressful time for us. Pauline and Peter

End of an era 😥

Well it’s finally arrived Peter and Pauline’s last day at Eastburn stores, we will be sad to go as we will miss all our loyal customers however we are really looking forward to our retirement.

Wednesday 30th July there is probably not going to be any newspapers as the new owners have not put anything in place yet although we are advised it is their intention to carry on with these going forward.

Please note the shop will not open until 9am on 30th and the post office will be closed most of the morning as an audit and handover takes place.

Thank you to everyone who has given us cards and gifts we are truly humbled by your kind words. It’s going to be an emotional day 🥲
