This happened at Harry’s today and I am so proud of our Daughter Beth and Scott our Son in law ❤️
I wouldn’t normally write things like this but I feel my wife needs recognition.
Today like every Tuesday I pop to a cafe and have a catch up with Beth.
Like any Tuesday i went to the cafe today however was late. When I was waiting for my sandwich a lady became very Poorly. Her daughter was asking for help. I sat with her whilst Beth called an ambulance and her body went limp ,During this time and assessing the lady her chest stopped moving , her pulse had gone from weak to nothing and her body started to try and suck air in known as agonal breathing , this is when the body attempts to suck air in when the heart is no longer beating or as it should be, This then stopped and the lady in theory went into cardiac arrest, I picked her up and laid her on the floor. I said to Beth start CPR which she did immediately whilst I managed her airway. After approx 1/2 minutes of CPR I asked everyone to stop moving. I saw slight movement In the ladies chest and felt a very faint pulse. After keeping the head tilted the lady took a breath and started to breathe again. After what felt a decade the lady then began breathing and looking around normal. An ambulance came and took her to hospital.
Seeing a person go into arrest and been immediately on the chest giving not just any CPR but good CPR ,Gave that lady the best chance of recovery.
I’ve seen over the years in the fire service and ambulance service some sights but today seeing what we witnessed was a pure miracle that we was there at that moment in time.
I’m immensely proud of my wife today. She will hate that I’ve wrote this. But she gave a person another chance with their family and to continue life. If anyone reading this is to learn anything from this Google “the chain of survival”
We wish the lady the quickest recovery !!!!
