There will be a tombola on the day to support the Space Centre.
The entries for the photo competition will be on display as well. You may remember we could not show them in June due to the high winds.

Top questions this month!
Why the name change?
We started off looking to restart events from our childhood, such as the Horticulture Show, and from there, it became much more.
In 2025, we have completed the following;
Litter pick - church road, Fleetwood Road and Fleetwood Park.
Hosted 4 Arts and Crafts afternoons, in the Sunroom at Wesham Community Centre
K & W Horticulture Show with displays and music from Kirkham Cultural Connections
We took part in the Fylde and Wyre Villages Scarecrow Festival in August, hosting workshops for " How to make your Scarecrow". 11 houses visited those and 6 went on to create displays.
October Harvest and Hearth - a piece of British tradition in farming and market communities, reflecting on the year and supporting each other. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/articles/cg42p2zk0n2o
Currently this is our last planned event of the year, unless we qualify for the " Warm zones grant". If we are successful, then we will put a timetable out for the winter holidays.
There's also the homework and revision group at Wesham Community Centre, and a plan is in place to start a Community Garden in Wesham in the new year.

What do you mean by non-profit?
No funds go to Kellyann or any other volunteers. The funds are used for room hire, posters, refreshments, utilities, and materials etc.
The more we raise, the more events we can run - or add to future events to extend their reach.

Harvest Festival celebrates the time of year when crops have been gathered from the field - a time when people can reflect and show gratitude for the food that they have.

We will be changing our name shortly to Wesham Community Trust.
We will be running the same events, and other Community projects in the area.

We will not be excluding Kirkham from any potential projects, most of our volunteers are Wesham based and WCT, Is a shorter abbreviation for posters etc.

We have also linked up with other Kirkham groups such as Kirkham Cultural Connections, Kirkham Town Council, Kirkham In Bloom and Town Crier of Kirkham , and we will continue those positive relationships for our towns. .

We recently submitted our paper work to change from a "limited company" to a " CIC" a Community Interest Company, to support our Community not Private profits, with our Social enterprises.

This year alongside running our usual access to learning provision, we also supported;

• Kirkham and Wesham Horticulture Show with Kirkham Cultural Consortium Kelly co-ordinated all groups and arranged the market, the KCC Performed the " Pollinator March"
• 2nd - 16th August Fylde and Wyre Villages Scarecrow Festival in Wesham
• 13th September Acting as a Judge for Freckleton Horticulture Show
• 25th October Harvest and Hearth at Wesham Community Centre

These events will run again next year, but we are also looking to running events in the school holidays themselves for 2025-2026.

In order to do this we need two things from our community.
1. If we hosted full day events in school holidays, would you join us ?
2. We will need additional volunteers, which could potentially include older teens wanting work experience with children, as well as suitable adults.

If you would join us in the school holidays vote below.

For volunteering opportunities please email Kellyann Moreton at [email protected], she will be setting up a day for Q&A in September at Wesham Community Centre
