Hello everyone, Claire here! Just a little note to explain why we have been a little quiet lately. I have decided to step down from organising Shadwell Village Market and unfortunately we have not managed to find a replacement in time for arranging markets this year 😔.

I personally want to say a huge thank you to all the stallholders who joined us over the last two years that I have been involved. You have been so lovely and it was a joy to get to know you and be a small part of your independent business journey. Thanks also to those from the village and surrounding areas who came out and supported the market!

If you live in the village or are an independent business owner looking to create a platform for your business and think you might be interested in taking over the organisation, please DM or email [email protected].

Hopefully it will return in future but in the meantime, seek out the many independent markets we have in Leeds and keep buying local! 😊 You can check out for more details on what's going on in your area each weekend.

It's now less than 24 hours until our Christmas Market and Shadwell Primary School Christmas Fair is here! The weather warnings mean that everything will be moved inside and also that a couple of stallholders now sadly can't make it. Nevertheless, we still have plenty of wonderful local businesses joining us with their food, drink and handcrafted wares.

In the hall we have 20+ gift stalls, mulled wine, handmade cakes and candy floss. Plus a festive soundtrack from our DJ, carols from Shadwell Primary School choir at 2pm and face painting from 2.30pm. There will also be seating and kids activities available too!

In the school there will be a special visit from Santa, more stalls and fun activities as well as a chance to get involved in a festive elf hunt! DM re. Santa availability.

There will be some limited car parking space in the hall car park plus street parking for those unable to brave the weather on foot!

We really hope to see you there!

Only two days to go and we will also have these fantastic local businesses joining in the festive fun!

Bessie and Fred Designs will have a selection of handmade Christmas wreaths, tree decorations, jewellery and accessories.

There will also be jewellery for all ages with Ros from .red.snail and her handcrafted pieces inspired by wildlife and the stars.

Plus Thorner-based author will be there with his trilogy of psychological thrillers and recently published anthology of poems.

We have a last minute change with joining us to serve up some delicious hot drinks. Based in Shadwell, we are delighted to be able to support small businesses from our own village with too 😊

We also have Stephen from in neighbouring Scarcroft who is another late addition with his sustainable 3D printed gifts inspired by Lego.

Its just over a week before we are back at St Paul's Shadwell Village Hall with our penultimate market of the year. There will be plenty of delicious food and drink to sort you out for the weekend with Nordic inspired delicacies, Persian street food, hand crafted cupcakes and cookies plus locally brewed beer and freshly brewed coffee. There will also be another great selection of locally made crafts, homeware, skincare products, home scents and jewellery plus homegrown plants and the lovely Woody's catering for all your doggie's needs!

As always, there will be seating inside and out and music from our DJ's to help you enjoy the morning and catch up with friends!

In just over two weeks we will be back with another great mix of local businesses including delicious Nordic inspired and Persian street food, local beer, award-winning coffee and home baked cupcakes plus lots of gift buying opportunities with handcrafted homewares, local art, homegrown plants, handmade crafts and home scents.
