We’ve recently had our food hygiene inspection carried out by Leicester City Council and we’re incredibly pleased to announce that we’ve been awarded a 5-star rating, once again!

This top rating reflects our continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene across our store. From how we handle fresh produce and short eats, to how we store and display groceries for you.

Thiruvalluvar Day honors the celebrated Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar, the author of the Thirukkural, for his contributions to Tamil literature and moral philosophy.

The Thirukkural is a classic Tamil text written by the poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar, and it is considered one of the greatest works of Tamil literature. Often referred to simply as the Kural, it is a collection of 1,330 couplets (kurals) divided into 133 chapters, each focusing on a specific theme or moral teaching.

The 1,330 couplets are grouped into three main sections, often referred to as:

Aram (Virtue): Deals with ethics and morality in private and public life.
Porul (Wealth): Focuses on governance, politics, and society.
Inbam (Love): Discusses love and relationships.
