As a Community Interest Company, everything we do is driven by our passion for supporting our community, promoting sustainability, and helping people access affordable goods, services and opportunities. To have that recognised by our fellow local businesses means so much to us.

One of the things we love most about being members of the Liskeard Traders Association is the genuine support businesses show one another.

The Business of the Month initiative is a brilliant example of businesses coming together to celebrate, promote and champion each other's success. Throughout the month, fellow members help raise awareness by sharing and promoting the chosen businesses, helping them reach new customers and strengthen connections across our town.

This is exactly why being part of the LTA is so valuable. It's not just networking—it's collaboration, support, shared ideas, community spirit and a collective desire to see Liskeard thrive.

Most people assume their laundry detergent is safe — after all, it’s “just soap”… right?

Unfortunately, many mainstream cleaning and laundry products contain hidden chemicals that don’t simply wash away. Residue can remain on clothes, bedding, towels, and soft furnishings, meaning our skin is exposed to these ingredients every single day.

Some commonly used chemicals even have legal exposure limits because of growing health concerns.

For example, certain detergents containing high levels of 1,4-dioxane — a chemical linked to liver and kidney damage and classified as a potential carcinogen — have already faced restrictions in places like New York. Yet many products around the world still contain it within “legal limits.”

What Could Be Hiding in Your Detergent?

Many big-brand detergents may contain:

🛑 Hormone Disruptors (Phthalates) – Often used to help fragrances last longer and linked to hormone and thyroid disruption.
