It’s been a year to the day since we lost Mr Matta. It feels like it has been so long without him, yet also as though yesterday he was walking around the shop, laughing and speaking to those around him. He put his heart and soul into Mattas, so it is a privilege for us to be apart of carrying on his memory and mission. Mr Matta was the best Granddad, Father, Husband, Friend and shopkeeper we have known. He truly was one of a kind, and will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and warm personality. We miss you so much💙

🍵 FUN FACT! 🍵

Did you know that white tea, green tea and oolong tea all come from the same plant? 🌿

The difference comes from when the leaves are picked and how they’re processed after harvest.

🤍 White Tea is made from the youngest leaves and buds. It’s the least processed of the three, giving it a delicate, light and slightly sweet flavour.

💚 Green Tea is heated soon after picking to prevent oxidation. This helps preserve its fresh, grassy taste and vibrant green colour.

🧡 Oolong Tea sits somewhere between green and black tea. The leaves are allowed to partially oxidise, creating a more complex flavour that can range from light and floral to rich and roasted.

Three teas. One plant. Completely different flavours and traditions! 🌍
