APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR WAPPING MARKET 🎯

For over five years, Wapping Market has brought independent food, drink and produce businesses into the heart of one of East London’s most distinctive neighbourhoods.

Every Saturday, our traders meet an established local audience that comes to eat, shop and discover something new.

We’re looking for more small scale independent talent to join the market, and The Market Network.

You might be an established trader looking for a new location, a growing business ready to get in front of more customers, or something completely new that we think Wapping needs.

Pitches are limited and we’re selective about who joins. Not every application will be accepted — the right mix of traders is a big part of what has made Wapping Market work for the past five years.

Founder Elena has spent years travelling Spain, meeting artisan producers, olive growers and makers to source some of the country’s finest food. From award winning extra virgin olive oils and perfectly marinated olives to beautiful Spanish almonds and gourmet delicacies, every product has a story behind it.

This isn’t your average deli stall. It’s a chance to discover the flavours you’d expect to find in a village market in Spain, brought straight to Wapping.

NEW TO WAPPING — Mànmànlái 🌶️

Growing up in Sichuan Province, Dandan was surrounded by some of China’s most distinctive cooking, bold flavours, deep heat and the unmistakable tingle of Sichuan peppercorns.

When she moved back to the UK with Sam, those were the flavours she missed. So she started recreating the dishes she grew up with, first for a taste of home, and then to share them with London.

Tomorrow, Dandan and Sam bring their Comfortably Numb Sichuan Soul Food to Wapping Market for the first time.

Expect Dandan noodles, wontons, chilli oil and that glorious Sichuan peppercorn tingle.

There’s something special about summer at Wapping Market.

It’s never just about the food. It’s about catching up with friends over coffee, discovering a local business you’ve never come across before, letting the kids run around, meeting the people behind the stalls, and taking a couple of hours to slow down.

We spent last night with Will from plant&person at one of his terrarium workshops.

Safe to say it lived up to the hype.

Ninety minutes flew by, everyone created something completely unique, and we all left with a terrarium that’s now sitting proudly in our homes.

It’s also part of something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while.

This is a continuation of everything we’re passionate about: creating routes to market for grassroots hospitality talent. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with some of London’s most exciting emerging talent, and we think it’s time more people got to experience what they do.

We can’t wait to share what’s coming.
