We are lucky that the weather has held out really well for our picnic lunches on the moors and this week we will be in upper Teesdale for a few days and the forecast is still pretty good.
Lunches on the moors feature the best of local produce and we try to feature cotherstone or BirdOswald cheeses for Teesdale and weardale events and we try to use Laceys Cheese from Reeth or Swaledale cheese from Richard so our guests can experience a real taste of the North

Thank you to Barnard castle WI for hosting a w**e and cheese tasting featuring three of our local cheeses including Cotherstone swaledale blue and the fabulous BirdOswald from Eric Horn slack house farm
A varied selection of w**es culminating in a stunning Riesling from Rheingau which went down exceptionally well
A good evening was had by all !

It’s a great privilege to look after guests on the moors for their picnic lunches throughout the late summer and Autumn especially when we are blessed with the weather
Swaledale didn’t disappoint yesterday bright sunshine for guests to enjoy their drinks before sitting down in the lunch hut to a 4 course sumptuous lunch
We served Tignanello from Marchese Antinori a stunning super Tuscan and Puligny Montrachet white Burgundy with a drop of the previous nights leoville lascasse to go with the Cotherstone cheese
