5 things you didn’t know about almonds

1. Not actually a nut

An almond is a seed, not a nut.
It grows inside a soft fruit that isn’t eaten, which surrounds a hard shell. Inside that shell is the edible kernel.

2. Built-in protection

Almonds develop inside layers of natural protection — fruit, shell, then seed.
This system helps keep them safe, dry and stable as they grow on the tree.

3. Nutrient-dense by nature

Small in size, but naturally concentrated.
Almonds deliver plant protein, healthy fats and fibre in a very efficient whole food form.

4. Naturally balanced nutrition

They contain plant protein, vitamin E, magnesium, calcium and potassium.
A simple ingredient with a wide nutritional profile.

5. Closely related to peaches & apricots

They all belong to the same plant family and share a similar stone-fruit structure.
Apricot kernels can even taste surprisingly close to almonds.
