Today, we’re zooming in on the forequarter of beef, which makes up the front half of the side of beef we discussed yesterday. This section includes some of the most popular and versatile cuts, rich in flavour and perfect for a range of dishes.

The forequarter is divided into two main parts:
1. The Chuck - This is located around the shoulder and is known for its rich marbling, making it ideal for ground beef, roasts, and slow-cooked dishes that become delightfully tender.
2. The Rib - Home to the prime rib and ribeye steaks, this area offers some of the most succulent and desirable cuts, perfect for grilling or roasting to impress at any dinner table.

In addition to these, the forequarter also includes the brisket (perfect for smoking and barbecuing), and the shank (excellent for osso buco and hearty stews).

Understanding these cuts helps you make the best choices for your meals, ensuring delicious outcomes every time. Drop by to pick up a cut from the forequarter, and stay tuned for Part 3 where we’ll explore the Primal Cuts of the Forequarter in more detail!
