Made here in our own butchery, they're the perfect summer sausage. On the barbecue, in the pan, or in a proper sandwich — they work every way.

🔪 📣 We’re Hiring – Trainee Butcher 📣 🔪

Grasmere Farm is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our onsite butchery team near Deeping St James as a Trainee Butcher.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a skilled trade from experienced professionals within a busy, family-run business known for high-quality produce and traditional butchery.

You’ll receive hands-on training in primarily pork butchery, learning everything from:
🐖 Full carcass breakdown
🔪 Preparing cuts for retailers and customers
🥓 Product preparation and production techniques

🕖 Working hours:
Monday–Thursday, 7am until finish (approx. 5pm)
Occasional Friday work required

⭐ We’re looking for someone who is:
• Hardworking and reliable
• Willing to learn
• Able to work at a quick pace
• Positive and proactive

💷 Competitive rates of pay with progression as skills develop.

📍 Based at our farm near Deeping St James
🚗 Own transport essential due to rural location

We've been curing and cooking our Farmhouse Sliced Ham right here in our farmhouse kitchen for years — and now it's in our brand new resealable packaging. 🐷

Same ham you know and love. Home cured, cooked on the farm, no shortcuts. The new packaging just means it stays fresher for longer once you've opened it — which let's be honest, is a problem when it tastes this good.

Fresh plant delivery in at Market Gate Deli this week 🌱

We've just had a brilliant load come in from our growers in Pinchbeck — marigolds (French and African), dahlias, tomato plants, petunias and more. All fantastic quality and they won't be hanging around long.

Perfect timing if you're getting your borders sorted, filling the greenhouse, or finally getting round to those hanging baskets. Pop in this weekend — you won't be disappointed.

It’s Jack’s last morning with us today, and at midday he’ll be handing the keys over to Lizzy as she steps into the role of Manager at Market Gate Deli.

Lizzy’s journey with Grasmere Farm began while she was still at school, working Saturdays in our butchers in Market Deeping, just across from the deli. Even back then, she stood out for her work ethic — always keen to help and never afraid to get stuck in.

After years of dedication and hard work, we’re incredibly proud to see Lizzy progress into this role. The whole team is thrilled for her, and we know she’ll do a brilliant job leading Market Gate Deli into its next chapter.

Of course, we’ll all miss Jack and everything he’s brought to the deli — but we know he won’t be a stranger, and we’re excited for what lies ahead for him too.

Best of luck to Jack in his new adventure, and to Lizzy in her new role. You’re both going to smash it. 💛

🌭 Sunshine Means One Thing… BBQ Time 🌭

With the Bank Holiday weekend on the horizon — and this lovely weather we’re having — it feels like the perfect time to dust off the BBQ. Maybe you’ve already planning a practice run or two this week? ☀️🔥

It’s also the last weekend to get your hands on our limited edition Pork, Stilton & Leek Sausages. They’ve been a huge hit over the last couple of months and are a great one to throw on the grill if you fancy serving something a bit different to friends and family. Rich, full of flavour, and not your average sausage.

We can’t quite believe how quickly they’ve gone… but don’t worry, our Pork & Stilton and Pork & Leek sausages will be returning soon.

And yes… we’ve got another limited edition sausage coming next week too. 👀
