🌿 Farewell, A Little Less Waste 🌿
This Thursday marked the bittersweet moment when I handed the keys back to A Little Less Waste. As I reflect on this incredible journey over the weekend, here are some valuable lessons that this adventure has gifted me:
1️⃣ Community is everything. Together, we cultivated a wonderful community of like-minded individuals who cherished camaraderie, shared experiences, and supported each other in making sustainable choices.
2️⃣ Owning a business is hard. From the inception of this venture to the day I closed the doors, running a business has proven to be both challenging and profoundly rewarding. The skills I have learnt will be woven into the fabric of my life forever.
3️⃣ Kindness is key. This experience shed light on the treatment of hospitality staff, reminding me that kindness costs nothing. I pledge to carry this lesson forward, ensuring patience and friendliness in all interactions, regardless of someones profession.
4️⃣ Gratitude for the dream team. A heartfelt shoutout to Dan, Mum, and my amazing team – the backbone of A Little Less Waste. Your genuine care for the business and our cherished customers made this space truly special.
5️⃣ Zero-waste is a journey, not a sprint. Sustainable living should be accessible and simple for everyone. Scaremongering doesn’t inspire change; instead, let’s focus on providing practical solutions that people can easily adopt and sustain. Many are more eco-friendly than they realise – from second-hand shopping to growing veggies and choosing sustainable practices. Small steps collectively make a big impact.
This experience will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I extend heartfelt gratitude to each one of you who joined me on this remarkable journey. 🙏
P.S. For those missing Mum’s coffee gatherings, fret not! She’s working on an exciting workshop space. DM your email address to stay in the loop! ☕🌱
