Over the past few weeks, our events team has been busy working on a private event for a very special Birthday.

We collaborated with talented businesses from across the county to create, build and manage an event from scratch. From sourcing a marquee, to preparing and serving food for over 100 guests, to providing the glassware to toast a cheer - we did it all!

And, what a wonderful day we had!

Farming never stops…..but we do love it! We’ve loved having you all at the shop this weekend and what better weather for a farm tour, playing on the bales or relaxing with a sausage and cider in the barn. But with the hot weather we are checking stock early mornings and late evenings, we’re still lambing a handful of ewe lambs and on tonight’s checks we had a couple with fly strike, which in this weather can get serious very quick. When it doesn’t cool down at night the larvae keep working and if they break the skin it can be tricky to recover. This ewe lambs only had a tiny bit of dark wool on the shoulder but photos illustrate how something that looks minor can develop. Give this another 24hrs untreated and she’d be in trouble in this heat. We have put a preventative fly spray on the majority of the flock but as these are still lambing we try not to disturb them to much as that can cause other issues! She’ll be fine now! Looking forward to seeing more of you tomorrow for a cider!
