When I was out walking the other day I came across a few medlar trees that I didn't know about. I had nothing on my to carry them if I picked them so I left them. They will probably fall off the tree and rot because people don't know what they are or what to do with them. But I also know that if I picked them and made them into jelly a lot of people wouldn't be interested in that either. So do I go back to pick them or not?

I have A LOT of pears on my tree this year so I'm going to be digging out my favourite pear recipes. Sadly most only need one pear but, hey, that's one less pear going to waste (or feeding the fruit flies whilst I dilly-dally over what to make next). Yesterday, i made fig rolls and two pear tarts. What's your favourite recipe that uses pears?
