Good evening meat lovers,
It's officially THINGS ON STICKS weather - and since the forecast is looking a bit nice for the Bank Holiday, we have cracked out the BBQ packs. Typically we sold out before we had a chance to get a decent photo, but here goes...

*4x 4oz homemade steak burgers
*4x 4oz homemade minty lamb burgers
*4x sticky bbq pork kebabs
*4x salt and pepper chicken fillet kebabs
*6x homemade farmer's sausage
All of these goodies can be yours for only £20!

You all know the score by now - pop us a message on messenger or whatsapp 07460811997 to reserve your packs and avoid disappointment. Please note we are currently not using the shop/Carl's phone, so we won't be able to see any messages sent there. ❤️

Lots of other offers going on throughout the week, may as well make the most of some al fresco dining before it's suddenly Winter again 🤣

Much love and cuddles,
Your friendly neighbourhood butchers ###x
Ps. The above number can be used to join our exclusive 'Cj's Otter of the day' whatsapp group. Sometimes we post special offers, most days it's just a picture of an otter. If you are interested in daily updates (or just like otters...), pop over a message saying OTTERS PLEASE and we will happily add you ###

Good evening meat lovers,
Really hope this is the last one of these we have to share with you for a bit! It will be bittersweet reopening without the main man, however he will always be with us, watching over all his girls ❤️
Got a busy couple of days ahead remembering how to be butchers, but will keep you posted and let you know what we have on offer for the weekend.
Really hope to see you all soon,
Love and cuddles,
Your friendly neighbourhood butchers ###
Ps - There will be a penalty system in place for anybody who makes us cry. You have been warned 😁 ###

To all of our lovely customers,
Just a quick update post as still struggling to get back to messages personally 💔 But first, a massive thank you for all the love and support you have shown both us gals and Carl's family over the last month. And an even bigger thank you for giving Carl an amazing send off that he would have been so proud of. He would have appreciated EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU ❤️🤩😍

Lots of people have been asking about the shop and when/if we are going to reopen. Short answer is we will be back open ASAP. Long answer, we have to navigate our way through lots of legal malarkey 🐓 so we don't have a set date yet. Our goal was to be open by Easter, but we can't move any faster than the paperwork which unfortunately is out of our hands.

In the meantime, all the gals will be in the shop doing all the odd jobs the boss left for us to finish 🤣 We will update you again soon, once all the red tape has been lifted.

Hope you are all keeping ok,
Lots of love and cuddles,
The gals ###
Ps - For those who don't know the story behind the Guiness... When Ted (one of Carl's absolute heroes) sadly passed away, his family kindly gave Carlos his last Guiness. He wanted to keep it close, so popped it on a shelf in work so Ted was always with him. When Carl (Our absolute HERO) passed away, there was only one place Carlos's last Guiness was going. Two heros, always together ###

Good evening meat lovers,
Nothing much meaty to post at the minute, so here is a photo of Shep. For those of you that haven't heard the story... get the kettle on. It's a beauty. For those of you that have, feel free to scroll on down for a meaty update, or by all means read this post and giggle along at my absolute naivety (and Carl's wind up ways!!!!)

So, it was a regular Tuesday in the shop, about 6 years ago. I was busy boning out ready for market day, whilst Carl was out doing the abbatoir run and picking up cleaning supplies from Makro. Anyways, Carlos rings, I pick up, and he sounds flustered. He says there is a puppy tied to a post at Makro, abandoned and alone, with a sign saying 'please give me a home..' Carlos was ringing to ask if I would be able to take in a stray puppy until we could find it a suitable home....
.. Now. Knowing what a joker he could be, I questioned it at first. But no, Shep was indeed real, and needed the support. So, I dropped tools and spent the next 2 hours completely 'puppy proofing' the flat - making a nice cosy bed, getting food together etc. The full monty, so to say.

Fast forward 2 hours, and Carlos returns from his adventures in the fridge van - with lots of primals of beef, and a rather delicate puppy wrapped up in his coat. There was puppy noises, the whole malarkey. I go to meet our temporary flat mate (who was getting delicately stroked on the head...) only to realise he wasn't infact real, and a bloody FAKE SHEEPDOG from Charlies!!!! Ooooh.... all I can see is his smug face in that 'got you good' moment!!!!! We didn't talk for about a week, and 6 years on, he is STILL not forgiven. It remained a sore point, and Shep still remains a talking point after all these years. Needless to say, I've finally brought him home where he belongs - without all the luxuries - to keep me company through the grief.

Our boss was serious at times, mostly an absolute terror, but he was OUR boss. So many giggles, so many WTF moments, So many laughs, tears, so SO much of the craic. We hope that you are remembering the good times too, through all the sadness.

We can never hope to replace his banter, his loving spirit, but he instilled it in us gals, and with the help from Carl's family, we hope to have the shop open again for all the usual chaos ASAP. Next week will be tough, but we are always looking forward. Carrying on his legacy is what we always spoke about, and we know for sure we can do this.

Much love and cuddles,

The gals (and Bon and Sab - Carl's not so meaty gals!!!!) X###

To all of our lovely customers,
Quick uodate for you all, but firstly, a massive thank you to everybody that has messaged/sent cards/left flowers. We have been totally overwhelmed by the love shown for Carlos, and the support shown to us gals and Carl's family too. Apologies to those we haven't managed to get back to, but please know every message has been read and appreciated so, so much.

For those wishing to attend, Carl's funeral will be held on Tuesday 10th March 1.30pm at Pentrebychan Crematorium, Wrexham. For those that can't make it but want to say their farewells, we will be meeting at the back of the shop at about midday, with the funeral procession leaving from there at 12.35. There will be no wake, as per his wishes - we had to abide by one, his others included being stuffed and put on top of Eric, and being driven around in the fridge van 🙈🤣

Carlos dedicated his life to making people feel happy, championed his craft by keeping evrybody fed, and was just... the best person to be around. Words don't even scratch the surface. Please join us to say one final goodbye.

Much love and cuddles,
The gals ###xx

Please read the picture, because this was hard enough to write once...
Thank you so much for all the kind messages and calls today - apologies to those we haven't got back to. Will post properly in the coming days, but for now, rest in peace and lets SHOW OUR LOVE (in HIS CAPITAL LETTER WAYS ❤️) for the legend, CARLOS JOHN GRECH. We will miss you every day. You will finally be with your dad again ###x

Good evening meat lovers,

Time to talk lamb, and love...

Firstly - love day is this Saturday, which is a brilliant excuse to put out a cheeky steak offer ! None of this 'buy 2 for £££ malarkey in our little shop, just 10% off any beef steak of your choice. Gaffer likes fillet but you prefer sirloin? Not a problem. You LOVE a steak, but you accidently married a vegan, or prefer the company of cats? Also no problem, ish. 🤣 For those of you that want a real sharing steak - £20 tomahawks are back this weekend too. No extra discount on those though, as they are already too cheap!

Secondly, photos for those of you that have messaged asking what the lamb kleftiko is about. It's coming along beautifully, smells unreal, and will be ready on the hot counter from tomorrow. Lamb balti is also finally back, still 2 trays for £10.

Sorting out the lamb cuts for the cooking has meant that we have extra lamb shoulder to play with on the butchers counter. So have b***d and rolled the excess and will pop them out at bone-in price. Perfect for a slow roast weekend joint, diced for curry or stew, or maybe pop one away for Easter, it isn't so far away now.

Lastly, first batch of sheepskins are officially ready to go!! Ideal for a last minute gift if you did forget love day. Will get some snaps as soon as possible to show what's available. They aren't out on the shop floor yet so please ask ❤️

Take care, and hopefully see you soon (might be hard the next couple of days though, as guessing we are going to be swarmed with flowers/chocolates/a massive queue of suitors... 🤔😬🤣)

Much love and cuddles,
Your friendly neighbourhood butchers ###x
