🇪🇸 THE STORY OF MANCHEGO

Some cheeses don’t really need an introduction… but Manchego deserves one.

Born on the plains of La Mancha in central Spain, Manchego has been made in the region for centuries using milk from the native Manchega sheep.

Its distinctive patterned rind traditionally came from the woven grass moulds used by cheesemakers, while inside you’ll find that unmistakable firm, buttery texture that develops more character as the cheese matures.

And this weekend, we’ve got something rather special on the counter…

10 MONTH AGED MANCHEGO.

Rich, nutty and beautifully savoury, with that slightly crumbly texture and long, lingering finish you only get from a properly matured Manchego.

It’s fantastic just as it is, but give us a little quince paste, some good olives and a glass of red alongside it and we’re very happy indeed.

We’ll always champion the very best British cheese, but when our friends in Spain make something this good, it absolutely deserves its place on our counter.

It’s Saturday, and our doors will soon be open.

There’s always something special about a Saturday in Nantwich. The town is bustling, familiar faces are out and about, and there’s a real sense of community around the wonderful independent businesses that make it such a brilliant place.

We’re incredibly proud to be one of them. From our little shop in the heart of town, we fill our counters with exceptional cheeses from passionate producers across Britain and beyond, alongside the crackers, chutneys, oils and delicious extras that complete any cheeseboard.

For us, it’s about much more than simply selling cheese. It’s about sharing our knowledge, introducing you to new flavours and helping you find something you’ll genuinely love.
