We’re open today from 10am till 5pm 🕰️

And just like that, we’re back… 🍂

Feeling refreshed after our wee break and ready to get stuck back in. We’re topped up and ready to go again, with deliveries of all your favourites arriving throughout the rest of the week.

The autumn drinks are starting to make an appearance too and we’ve got some rather delicious autumn specials up our sleeves, which we’ll be sharing with you over the next few days. 🍁

We can’t wait to see all your lovely faces again 🥰

🥳 HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK 🥳

Well… it’s that time of year again where we have to pretend Patrick is the favourite. 🎂🥳

For those of you who know us, you’ll know Patrick and I are never far away from a bit of banter — and today, unfortunately for him, I’ve decided to hijack the page and have my say! 😏😂

So from me, Colin, Louie and everyone here, we want to wish our very own Patrick a MASSIVE Happy Birthday! 🥳🎉

Now, we all know there’s some serious favouritism going on around here…
Patrick gets away on a weeks HOLIDAY for his birthday…

Whereas when it’s MY birthday, apparently I’m expected to turn up, work hard and still make our supper at night.
Funny how that works, isn’t it Patrick? 👀😂

For those of you who see us at the weekend, you’ll know Patrick is our resident weekend boy. 😏😂 He’s become far too comfortable in his role too — and recently he’s been getting VERY confident behind the coffee machine, trying his absolute best to beat me to making the coffees.

I’ll let him have his moment… but deep down, he knows mine taste better. 😂😂

Jokes aside, Patrick is a massive part of what we do here. He’s always there at the weekends, keeping you lot entertained, having a laugh with everyone, and making sure things keep ticking along — even if he does think he’s now some sort of professional barista! 😂

We’re incredibly lucky to have him, and I know so many of you love seeing him when you pop in at the weekend. ❤️

So when you see our birthday boy when he returns from his very deserved birthday holiday (🙄😂), make sure you wish him a massive Happy Birthday! 🥳🎂

Just a wee reminder that we are open until 5pm today then tomorrow will be our last day before our summer break ☀️

A wee heads-up that the deli counter and fruit & veg stand will be looking a little lighter than usual as we run things down — BUT, don’t worry there’s still plenty to see us through for the next couple of days, including all your favourites 🧀 🫒🍷 and weekly essentials for you to get topped up 🥰

Just a little note to let you know that the deli will be closing at 4pm on Saturday 29th August, and we’ll be back open as normal on Tuesday 8th September.

It’s hard to believe it’s another year since we took on Food for Thought. What a journey it’s been — and what we’re most grateful for is all the people who have become part of it along the way - YOU, our customers! 🫶🏼

Every visit, coffee, lunch, bottle of something lovely, chat at the counter and recommendation to a friend means so much to us. ❤️

We’ve always wanted Food for Thought to be about more than simply buying good food — showcasing brilliant local producers and makers, doing things a little differently, and creating a place for good food, drink and conversation without anyone feeling rushed.

By shopping with us, you’re supporting our little business and the wonderful local suppliers, producers and makers we’re so proud to work with.
We honestly can’t thank you enough. ❤️

So, we’re looking forward to some time off and hopefully coming back with the batteries a little more charged.
Although there is the small matter of Patrick and I spending an entire week together… 😂

Those who know us will appreciate this may be the biggest test of the holiday.
What on earth are we going to talk about after day two?! 🤣

We’re topped up on Hungry Squirrel nut butters 🥜 We also have one bunch of Cottar House Flowers left!

Cheese counter is fully stocked too — including one of our favourites, smoked Dunlop 🧀

A little visit from Coral…. and Amber 🐾

We had the loveliest little visitors in the deli today — Coral, who turns 11 weeks old tomorrow, and she is already winning hearts in the village. 💛

A very special new puppy and, we think, a pretty wonderful addition to our community. Her sister, Amber, also popped by but she was full of energy and we totally forgot to get a picture of her 🙈📸 next time Amber!

A little reminder on our hours: we’re open tomorrow, 10am–5pm, fully stocked and ready for you. We’ll also have a delivery of Cottar House flowers arriving tomorrow — we’ll pop an update on our socials as soon as they arrive.

We’ve topped up our From Bakery Lane range, handmade by the lovely Alice — the Granolas & Jams are always really popular and don’t stay on the shelves for long 🥰

Happy Friday! 🌻

It looks like the sun may just be making a reappearance and we're all set for the weekend here at Food for Thought.

Our Rora Dairy yoghurt has just arrived and the shelves have been topped up, the Perello olives are back in too and the cheese in the counter has been freshly cut and topped up 🧀

Rhoda has also spoiled us with another beautiful delivery of flowers – perfect for brightening up your home or as a thoughtful gift.

If you're passing by, the coffee machine's on too, so pop in for your Friday coffee and a catch up. ☕️

We're open 10am–5pm today and just a little reminder that we'll be closing early tomorrow (Saturday) at 1pm as we're taking a short weekend break.
