Summer Season Fresh Produce! ☀️🍓

It may be blustery and showers outside, but summer has officially arrived in the fruit and veg world!

The first tastes of the season are here, with juicy cherries, pea pods, broad beans and delicious Maris Bard new potatoes. We are also enjoying Scottish strawberries and raspberries, along with fresh broccoli and purple sprouting broccoli.

And we can't wait for local favourites to arrive soon – Morpeth Maris Bards, plus Ian's famous Bedlington cucumbers and courgettes!

Pizza night just got even better!

We are delighted to welcome handcrafted sourdough pizzas from East Pizzas to the shop. Made with a 72-hour slow-fermented dough and topped with quality ingredients, they're packed with flavour and a world away from the average supermarket pizza.

Choose from Margherita, Pepperoni or Spicy 🌶️

Perfect for easy weekend dinners, family nights or watching the football. You'll find them in the chest freezer at the back of the shop.

Blagdon Vegetables 2026 – Here We Go!

Thanks to Fraser and his team on the farm, the first plantings of the year are safely in the ground. This season, we've moved the vegetable field to a new location to help manage weeds, pests and diseases naturally, reducing the need for chemicals and giving the crops the best possible chance to thrive.
Tucked away in a secluded spot surrounded by woodland, we're hoping for a bumper harvest. So far we've planted pumpkins, kale, cabbages, cauliflowers, purple sprouting broccoli and, as a bit of an experiment, celeriac.

We know how much many of you enjoy our freshly picked vegetables, so we'll keep you updated on their progress throughout the growing season.

Today is National Sausage Roll Day.

Our sausage rolls are made using the finest ingredients from our butchery from Traditional pork, Homemade haggis & black pudding to local Venison.

Our sausage rolls are lovingly baked each morning in our bakehouse till they are golden brown - they are also available to buy frozen so you can bake them at home.

Today along with our Gold award winning Old English sausage roll, we have -
Haggis and pork
Wild Roe Venison and pork
Black pudding and pork
There's a sausage roll to tempt everyone's taste buds.

We’ve been busy getting ready with freshly made burgers, sausages, kebabs, steaks and all your BBQ favourites.

From classic crowd-pleasers to NEW Smokey Bourbon Belly Pork Bites (which got a big thumbs up from the team 👀), there’s plenty to fire up your weekend feast.

GOOD NEWS PIE LOVERS 🥧

After a very busy 2 and a half weeks (and a LOT of rolling pastry 😅), we’ve finally caught up and the pie counter is looking fully stocked once again.

Whether you’re after the 'Diamond Winning' Mince and Onion Pie, a classic Steak, a creamy Chicken and Leek or you just love homemade shortcrust pastry… now’s the perfect time (and weather) to treat yourself 😍

Made by hand, baked fresh, and packed full of succulent meat from our butchers, our pies continue to be one of the most loved parts of the shop. On the shelves we have single pies or for 3-4 people. For larger gatherings (6-8 or 10-12) please order online.
