Dear Valued Customer,
As I write this letter, my heart is filled with gratitude and nostalgia. After much contemplation, I have made the difficult decision to retire and close the doors of William Lindsay Family Butcher in Creetown. It is a step I never imagined I would take after so many wonderful years in this beloved trade.
For over fifty years, I have had the privilege of serving our community, beginning with my lovely wife Lorraine by my side when we first stepped into this shop in 1982. On Monday 15th January 1990 we proudly took over the business, transforming it into a family-run establishment that became more than just a shop—it became a focal point of our community and our lives.
Throughout the years, Lorraine and I have shared this adventure with our children. Our son, Young William, embraced the craft and has built a fulfilling career as a master butcher in Grangemouth. Meanwhile, our twin daughters, Lana and Sarah, contributed immensely, not just through their hard work behind the counter and making deliveries, but also by brightening the days of our customers with their cheerful smiles.
This shop has been more than a workplace; it has been a source of joy and connection. Meeting each of you, hearing your stories and forming friendships over the counter has enriched our lives in unimaginable ways. Your support throughout the years has meant everything to us.
As our children have ventured out to pursue their own dreams, running the business has become increasingly challenging for me alone. While it fills me with pride to see Lana and Sarah thrive in their chosen paths, it also saddens me to acknowledge that keeping the shop going has become too much for me to bear.
With a heavy heart, I announce that our last day of trading will be Saturday 27th September 2025. On that day, I will close the door of William Lindsay Family Butchers for the final time, filled with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for all of you.
Thank-you for being a part of our journey and for your unwavering support. I look forward to crossing paths in the future, where we can reminisce and enjoy a wee blether, just as we always have.
Wishing you all the best and endless gratitude,
Wullie Lindsay
