A Brother’s Tribute
At John Eastwood Hospice, we are often moved by the incredible people we meet, but every so often, a story comes along that truly captures the spirit of community and the power of a Legacy.
We’d like to introduce you to Alex Bradbury.
Alex recently reached out to us with a mission. On December 31st, 2025, he sadly lost his brother Mark 'Bradders' at the young age of just 44, following a courageous battle with Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP)
Alex is organizing a special tribute match featuring his brother’s Vets team, Ravenshead F.C., taking on a "Selection of Friends." Many of these players haven't seen one another in 25 years, but they are reuniting on the pitch to honour a man they loved and to raise vital funds for the hospice that supported him.
In a touch that we know will make local fans smile, Alex is hunting for a kit for the "Friends" team. His only rules? No Red, and strictly NO Derby County colours! As a lifelong Nottingham Forest supporter, his brother wouldn't have had it any other way.
How You Can Join the Team
Alex is working tirelessly to maximize every penny raised for John Eastwood Hospice and is asking our community to help him make this event a massive success.
Can you support Alex by donating:
• Memorabilia: Signed shirts, balls, or gloves for the auction?
• Prizes: Tickets, vouchers, or raffle items from local businesses?
• Sponsorship: Are you a local team or business that can provide a kit for the 22 players?
"Football has a way of bringing people and communities back together." — Alex Bradbury
