πΎ Food doesn't just arrive. It's grown, caught, shared and protected, and here in Argyll and Bute, climate change is putting real pressure on all of that.
ABCAN is launching Food Resilience in Our Changing Climate a new webinar series exploring what it will take to feed ourselves well into the future. Six sessions are planned in total, three confirmed so far, with more to be announced π
π¦ First up, 22 September: deer management for biodiversity and food resilience, with Stephen Sloss from Forest,Field & Glen and our Rainforest Manager Ian Dow. We'll explore the role of wild venison in a resilient local food system, and how responsible deer management links to rainforest regeneration and woodland recovery.
Two more sessions follow: π± seed sovereignty on 20 October with Baleveolan Croft and Mid Argyll Seed Coop, and π thriving seas with Open Seas on 17 November.
