FISH FRIDAY – WE'VE GOT THE PLAICE TO BE!

This week's fish is our beautiful Faroe Islands Plaice.

According to Paul, autumn is one of the best times to enjoy it. The quality is fantastic at the moment, with lovely thick, generous fillets. In fact, they're so big that you could easily get two smaller portions from one fillet!

PAUL'S RECIPE OF THE WEEK
Golden, Crispy Breaded Plaice

Paul has a little trick for getting that perfect crispy coating.

Mix ordinary breadcrumbs with panko breadcrumbs. The finer crumbs fill the gaps between the larger panko pieces, giving your fish a lovely, even coating.

1. Dip your plaice in seasoned flour.
2. Coat in beaten egg.
3. Press into your breadcrumb mixture.
4. Pan-fry in oil over a medium heat for around 3½ minutes on each side, until golden and cooked through.

Serve with chunky chips, garden peas, tartare sauce and a wedge of lemon.
